The Knicks don't need to hire Jay Wright, but they really need to hire Kenny Atkinson away from Golden State!!! Not only would he bring what he learned under Steve Kerr here, but he also brings head coaching experience at the NBA level here. Kenny Atkinson is also very good at player development. He's responsible for the development of Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris Levert, and Jared Allen when they were in Brooklyn. Plus, he's from New York and he already knows how to handle coaching in NYC.

Thibs not going anywhere if he doing good… They understand that this might be his last chance as a coach in the nba and to possibly win a chip… so as long as we are doing well… especially making the post season twice in the first three years of a rebuild… he not going anywhere…

I have to admit that your comparison of Mark Jackson vs Tom Thibs was pretty well made. Can't argue with it. Having said that, like the Dubs, the Knicks need to move on from Thibs. Jay Wright would be an interesting hire.
