I think there is an outside shot at the 6 seed. I think Raptors will get at least the 7th seed and pass the Nets, but I dont know if they can catch the Knicks of Heat.

Thing is though that we still need an actual bench and a backup PG who can make plays and shoot well. Poeltl is great improvement, but realistically we aren’t taking this current team that much further through the playoffs with the Poeltl move alone.

Success of this trade is more contingent on our results in the playoffs and off-season. Being buyers in the deadline means we have sacrificed the opportunity cost of two (potential) lottery picks and so the barometer should measure immediate results. Considering we already made the 1st round last year, we should reach the 2nd round and cannot afford to lose any of our free agents for nothing.
