9-40 on threes. Strus, Robinson, and Oladipo combined for 2-13 (3-20 overall) LMAO… Not gonna cut it. Love and Zeller had solid first game for us. They are going to be useful. Love’s shot will come around but having those big bodies will help. We need out shooters to make their damn shots.

  2. MySilverBurrito

What the actual fuck has happened to Spo’s offense? Watch any 2020 highlights and the off-ball movements were incredible to generate open looks.

Now, we’re settling for PnRs and isos. Just look at how our shooters are revertted to the corner or wing as they do nothing but watch.

Game was lost when Herro/Bam/Butler sat down at the same time.

Bright side, Dipo/Zeller PnR is pretty nice. Zeller just needs time to know when Dipo passes and he’d get more looks.

  3. MediocreDVaMain

Welp at least the Cavs also lost

Zeller wants to secure that backup center gig and Caleb looked great off the bench, onto the next one

If we’re gonna continue to be shit on offense maybe it’s time to take Strus off the rotation and just give his minutes to Haywood for some positive defense instead

  4. surgeyou123

    9-40

All there is to say. That’s just not winning basketball.

  5. readndrun

Blown out by the Nets then Bucks. Time for a mid-game bench blow-up to get us back on track.

  6. SudTheThug

we play like a team from the 80s skill set, can’t shoot threes for shit

shooters league and we have none

  7. kakabakaba

I’ll take all this regular season pain if it means getting our shooting back in the playoffs. Cody Zeller is a good addition for us.

  8. Dramatic-County-1284

I thought Kevin would hit at least 1 three

  9. Own-Marsupial-4448

Damn that was tough to watch!!! Guess no rubber match or revenge against Boston in the spring!!

  10. TheRatchetTrombone

Burn the tape and move on. Team was off top to bottom. Onto tomorrow.

  11. mohammadali916

No comment other then make your fucking threes. That simple

    Onto tomorrow

  12. LemonCanddy

I pray to whatever God is out there that strus isn’t back next year

  13. Ticonderoga2HB

I liked what Kevin and Cody brought, was great to see some fresh guys. Kevin hasn’t played an nba game in a month his shooting is not unexpected, he did create space. Jimmy and Bam were great, Tyler was forgettable, bench was dogshit. Go heat

  14. This is just an ugly team to watch. Just want the season to end and these g leaguers off the roster

  15. danonthemoon3

That was not what I meant when I said that I wished the heat would stop playing so many close games

  16. fourassedostrich

I can conclude, with near absolute certainty, that the Bucks are very good, and we are very not.

But really though, this just emphasizes the massive distance between the top of the East and us. The K Love addition was…a nice gesture, but pretending like we’re something even vaguely resembling a contender is just lunacy at this point. We’re atrocious on offense, our bench is abysmal, and our owner is a cheapskate. We just are what we are at this point.

  17. Cockycent

Too many loses this season where I feel its a new low and shit will turn around.

  18. TheRatchetTrombone

I think a large part of it was that they felt like the new acquisitions had to click. Tomorrow should be much better.

  19. chitownbulls92

22.5% from 3 is bad…even for heat standards

  20. Ozymandias12

    Takeaways for me:

Everyone was out of sync. The guys need more time to gel.

    Still, individually guys were awful.

We need more out of Bam, Jimmy, and Tyler. They should have dominated tonight. Instead they just coasted. Bam was outplayed by Portis.

We absolutely need more out of Tyler. He’s been pretty ass even before he went down. Dipo is also not impressive. It’s a bummer he has a player option and no trade clause. Would have been better as a team.

I think our shooting sucks because our ball movement sucks and part of that is that Jimmy and Bam just aren’t playing well together. Either Jimmy is taking over in the paint, or Bam is, and no one is sharing the ball or driving and kicking. There’s absolutely no fluidity or movement in our offense. Even when someone does kick it out, it seems like no one is expecting it.

Unfortunately I don’t think Love or Zeller are fixing these issues. There needs to be a top down change in our offense.

  21. varietypaul

Cody Zeller has cemented himself as a Heat legend 😈

  22. MadeInRizzo

An awful friday ends in an awful way

Oh well, on to the next

  23. Moh_Shuvuu

Love and Zeller will help, but it’s not changing the course this team is on. We’re the worst offense in the league for a reason. Two buyouts guys ain’t changing that.

  24. Ifinishfast42

Are we allowed to cut a buyout guy like love this soon?

  25. long--winded

The bucks are a buzzsaw even without giannis, but that was BAD. onto the next one

  26. letsgoheat3

I specifically remember after the playoffs last year Spoelstra saying he would look into the Heat’s 3 point shooting disappearing.

Not sure if anyone else remembers that.

Not sure if he’s done anything with that investigation.

  27. DustyBawls03

Kevin Love paying tribute to his old team/number with 0 points. We’ll let it slide this game

  28. iCOULDbewr0ng

Having zero expectations for the 2nd half makes losses like this pain free

  29. We need an offensive overhaul. Start running more plays besides PnRs and Isos ad nauseam. Imagine if we borrowed from the old warriors playbook under Mike when he would run unexpected stuff like elevator screens and pinch downs. Hell. We even had ray Allen on the team we SHOULD’VE copied his constant motion for shot hunting…. But NOPE!

  30. BadRomanceMala

“We don’t need Russ, he’s a brick machine,” they said

“We just need more size,” They said

“The scorers will do their work once we add an actual 4,” they said

I have to give the Heat FO props for bamboozling everyone into thinking that all we needed was rebounding and size. Truly the best snake oil salesmen in the league

    The positives though:

    * Jimmy was getting buckets until he realized that he couldn’t carry the team
    * Bam was getting into a stride
    * Caleb off the bench looked really good despite the entire bench being shit
    * Love and Zeller do bring some much-needed size and rebounding to the game

    The neutral:

    * I know Spo is working out the rotation at this point with two players but between Zeller/Love/Bam/Highsmith, there should be a very minimum time in having Caleb at the 4. It looked downright disrespectful having Portis on Caleb backing him down like he was nothing.

    * I know K Love is fresh off an injury but he can’t be bricking open 3s like that. I am less harsh on him cause he’s still adjusting and he did contribute 8 rebounds and 4 assists so he did something at least

    * 14 points is alright but the third-best player on the team cannot go 5-15 in FG%. 3-7 from three is passable but god damn, Herro needs to show up cause its been a pretty noticeable stretch of games where he is shoooting like that

    The negatives:

    * Did someone poison the bench? It’s like impossible for me to comprehend how we have almost the same pieces from the last season and yet we are shooting so poorly. Zeller who wasn’t even brought on the team to be in that role had more points than Dipo, Struss and Robinson COMBINED.
    * Dipo/Strus/Robinson went a combined 3-20. Absolutely unacceptable
    * Strus just looks checked out man. Poor defense, just lobbing bricks, frustration fouls
    * I know nobody is going to agree but I finally am leaning to the side that Dipo might be washed

  31. The overreactions to the shooting of Kevin Love is absolutely baffling to me, he’s by no means a world beater, but my goodness the guy literally just put on a Heat jersey and was asked to be in a starting role right away for a brand new team, and then you got people who are already crucifying him and saying for him to be off the team already.

  32. blazinit430

Can somebody who played ball or coaches, or knows the game more than me explain what the fuck happened to Duncan robinson.

  33. AidsAcrossAmerica

So reporting from the ground here. At the Mecca collecting my thoughts. We all had fun, cringed a bit, K Love looked good (handsome) and I’m gonna have another beer. On to the next!

  34. clay10mc

This is the worst thing to happen on my birthday since the invasion of Ukraine

  35. strangerthingskids

Strus should’ve been traded for anything. He’s not contributing and gonna be looking for a contract.

  36. btccoachcody

Strus and Robinson have to be the MOST inconsistent players in the league.

  37. vincemeister55

I like Zeller. He is quick for a big.

  38. Reksalp105

I actually thought the spacing on offense was immediately better.

Bucks always love playing us so it’s not surprising they went off.

Not sure K Love can play defense, but generally thought there was some good from the game.
