Sad. He was supposed to get more time there.

  2. maroontheanchor

Grass ain’t always greener in LA huh?

  3. waskittenman

guess he’s not the perennial 20/10 guy that laker fans were telling me he was

  4. He needs to figure out another way to contribute, other than just scoring. I hope he does

  5. stache_twista

He’s gotta remake himself into a catch and shoot volume 3 shooter. Guys who freeze out their teammates to shoot midrange like Derozan are on their way out of the league. Pace and space has been the way for like 10 years

  6. Rough stretch for Nunn too. I think once the new team excitement wears off and you’re playing for a team that is a mess with injury issues essentially on the outside of the playoffs looking in, its hard to find any kind of consistency.

I dont get why our fanbase is so caught up on former players. Especially when we have so many of them, from Bobby Portis to Otto and Oubre. We talk more about Rui these days than we do our guard in professional basketball. After every single Wizards game a guy makes a post with Rui’s name in it. lol I get that he was only moved 6 or 7 weeks ago and it was abrupt. But we have Nunn now. John isnt here, Rui isnt here, Winston is gone, Sato left.

No offense, I’d just rather focus on the actual Wizards players on the roster. Even possible draft picks, rather than yet another Dinwiddie post or something.

Still laughing at the Rui fans who were claiming he was a borderline all star talent. I can just imagine them on the Lakers sub now: “With LeBron out, why isn’t the offense running through Rui??”

  8. trivium71

Not surprising. It’s telling that his presence on our team hasn’t been missed.

I thought Lakers fans crowned him “Baby Kawhi” after one game? Life comes at you fast.

  10. Rui isn’t great at any one thing. Compare Rui to our end of rotation/just outside of rotation guys: Deni, Wright, and Goodwin can claim to be good defenders, Kispert can claim to be a good shooter, and Nunn can claim to be good at creating his own shot. Rui on the other hand isn’t a good defender, isn’t a great shooter, and relies on good guard play to get him the ball in favorable scoring spots.

  11. All the holes in his game have been further exposed in LA. Tommy made the right trade, as he usually does (drafting and free agency are separate issues
).

I wonder if they didn’t trade Russ, if this Rui would still be showing up. Russ knew exactly where Rui wanted the ball. Always put him in the best position to succeed. LA doesn’t really have that type of guy with LeBron out.

I thought the Lakers fleeced us with this trade? Anyway, I really wanted Rui to succeed here but there are too many holes in his game to be consistent (right now). Hopefully he can improve them, but we were waiting for that his whole time here.

  14. I feel for Rui 🙁 should’ve gone to the Pacers, they need a PF

  15. pretty funny seeing lakers fans say the exact same cope that wizards fans said
