Why tf did TNT cut this off in the middle of the reveal

  2. Well deserved. It’s super gross how some of our fanbase treated him in the past, but I’m glad that the franchise recognizes how important he was.

  3. shaheedmalik

How many more numbers do the Lakers have left?

  4. SnortingPixieSticks

I don’t mean to be hyperbolic but if Pau Gasol asked me to kill someone I would

  5. SRG_0203

The guy that got me into the Lakers. Legend

  6. lilberfcontrol

Congrats to Lakers and Grizzlies legend Pau Gasol.

  7. Smooth_P9

    Thank You Pau!

2009 and 2010 not possible without you!

  8. karmaisevillikemoney

Class Act. Legend. One of the most skilled big men since Hakeem to play in the NBA

When I first started playing ball, Pau was one of the first players that I started watching on purpose. I had a similar build, play style, position so I loved watching him play.

    This was awesome to see.

Was TNT not allowed to show it? The halftime B squad should not be getting tv time over that. Glad I was able to switch to Spectrum, Pau is such an honorable guy.

I try not to be obsessed with the personas of players, we just see a public facing brand and I wanna respect them despite their flaws and not be too parasocial. But this dude is a class fucking act, this kind of thing makes me so happy I got to root for him

Great to see another great Laker center number be retired. Well deserved!

  13. Lalo1711

I love Pau so much. This brings such a joy to my heart. And to hear how much he loves Vanessa and the girls. He is such a great human being.

  14. Victory_Gin

I did too when I saw that his jersey was right next to Kobe’s…

  15. OlTommyBombadil

Not even a Lakers guy and I love to see this. Always liked Gasol. Just did his thing. Took a lot of shit and still played at a high level. Congrats to him.

    Chairman Pau!

    My all time favorite Laker!

Idgaf about NBA discourse when it comes to this kind of stuff. I love this shit. Mad respect to Pau and his love for his teammates and the game.

  18. everydayisstorytime

Well deserved. I got so mad with our FO when they treated him so poorly towards the end of his tenure with us. I’m glad he’s getting this honor and the love from the fans.

  19. MentalPeanutButter

Man I bet he wants nothing more than for Kobe to be there

  20. Patient-Mango4861

Sheesh it must be a brutally bittersweet moment for him. He’s getting the recognition he deserves, the years of hard work he put in…. But Kobe isnt there

  21. schmo006

Was cool to see him in a bulls jersey. Good guy

  22. A privilege to watch play and an authentically pure soul who bleeds purple and gold. Much deserved jersey retirement.

  23. lolminna

Congratulations to Pau Gasol, he deserves it.

I know he wasn’t a star or anything but I think Lamar Odom should also have his number retired. That man stuck with the Lakers not only through the good times, but also the bad times.

  24. imonfireahh

So happy for Pau. Well deserved and he gave us some great moments. One of my favorite Lakers ever

  25. HotBoyTeece

when i think of him i think of ps2 backyard basketball

  26. KillianDrake

Always a stand-up guy, always played his ass off, a real competitor – one of the few that Kobe respected implicitly. Was treated like shit by D’Antoni.

  27. Much love to Pau one of my all time favs and such a great advocate of the game

  28. thachlam91

I mold my game after him and even have all my jersey number 16. Him and Kobe was my inspiration to play basketball.

  29. xprime32

As a Memphis fan, I still associated him with the Grizz for the longest time, but since Kobe’s death its become clear how instrumental he’s been as a Laker
He was the #2 on those championship teams, but beyond that he was a team and community leader and he deserves to be in the rafters

  30. EzshenUltimate

No shade to CP3, but we could have lost Gasol for him. Glad we still ended up here, though. Laker legend!

  31. thedonjefron69

Man I’m tearing up watching this. Right next to Kobe as it should be. 2009-2010 was some of the most fun I’ve had watching this team and was during such an awesome time of my life.

  32. PatronSaintOfUpdog

One of my favorite Lakers ever.

We could all be a little more like Pau.

  33. blingblingmofo

How long till we run out of two digit numbers?

  34. The-Pharcyde

He was such a huge part of those lakers championships. Much deserved.

  35. ModsGetTheGuillotine

Very happy for Pau. An underrated all-timer.

  36. TinFoilRobotProphet

All did was play his ass off with Kobe. Well deserved. Well done.
