Rough loss. We got hot way too late, Bertans and Hardy brought some really nice energy and shooting but yeah, CJ got hot as well.

  2. Flashy421

I am very confident we win this game if Luka didn’t play at all tonight.

  3. bloodydingbat

He shouldn’t have even played today. What a waste.

  4. BanksMone

Mavs would’ve won that game if Luka didn’t play. He was killing the pace of the team and giving up buckets on defense.

  5. Reddit-on-Reddit

I will always remember peak Josh Green 😞

  6. elsporko321

Don’t know why you have to wait so fucking long to try different lineups, or guys that haven’t played to see if they’re hot (Jaden Hardy and Bertans both were).

This loss is comfortably on the coaches.

  7. dantheflyingman

Hardy and Bertans should be part of the Rotation. Morris and Frank don’t

I had a comment ready to go on how this was going to be a great “ugly win” by the Mavs that showed fight and character but dammit CJ he clutched it with the crazy 11 points in 2 min. Anyway, who would have thought Kyrie of all people would have brought much needed leadership and maturity to this team?

  9. mehmetem

All West vs West games are must wins but Kyrie and the boys gotta gut out a few wins so that Luka can rest and recover. If the Mavs let him run on fumes both him and the Mavs are gonna be cooked come playoff time and he’s going to risk more serious injury. On top of that if he’s hobbled he’s hurting the team with the nonexistent defense and his inefficient nights aren’t making up for what he gives up. He shouldn’t have started the game tonight but glad they took him off.

Fought all the way back just to not be able to get the ball out of McCollum hands when he has no other scoring option on the floor with him? This team is just really really bad. Hoping for a fun first round series and they get hot and we get lucky and win but that’s all we can really hope for. They aren’t good.

This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We’ll win a couple, too. But don’t get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That’s hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn’t have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses.

Yes sir, that’s my 2022-2023 Dallas Mavs. A good, honest .500 basketball team.

Guys like Pinson, Javale, Morris, Frank, Holiday would literally be out of league already if not for Mavs lol. And that’s like almost half of our team’s roster DAMN

That tells you a lot how poorly constructed our team was.

  13. MFFL12_17

Luka needs to learn from Kyrie regarding on court discipline. Dude is 24 and acts like a child.

  14. GOtexas1

Kidd needs to revamp his rotations.

Hardy needs to play more and he needs to play wood and maxi (or Powell) at the same time. they have way too little size to play Dwight at the five

  15. We obviously have some roster construction issues, but Jason Kidd might literally be braindead.

  16. Justin holiday with a -30 plus minus 😂😂 I can’t even blame him he shouldn’t be getting those kindve minutes I blame Kidd

  17. Axisofcoolio

This Hardy kid is nice. Hopefully Coach Kidd saw some promise and will decide to give him minutes over his son Frank

  18. Luka shouldn’t have played. He was not right all game. 15 points on 15 shots says enough.

  19. Slashers23

Love Kidd the player, Kidd the coach however is such a pain in the ass to watch.

  20. From this game, I think damn thats a good team until you realize they were 1-6 last 7 games. No zion, alvarado, BI hurt, and we cant pull out a win. Teams look good against us cause we are bad at basketball.

  21. YoStepWithLuka77

Man josh green has literally been such a disappointment. So frusturating

  22. WhiteBoyFlipz

always rough in the 2nd night of a back to back going from home to the road with less than 20 hours. shit happens. hope luka recovers (selfishly before the game i’m going to on the 24th) we need him back for playoff seeding games

  23. musash10

This game just shows how cooked kidd is. Played luka for way too long when it was obvious he was hurt. Wood and Hardy were part of a big run in the fourth when both guys have been in the Kidd doghouse. Thj been hot since the asb and he still not running plays for him to get open looks. With how hardaway is shooting he should be putting up as many 3s as possible. Powell was getting dominated on the boards and he still didn’t put wood in all those minutes. Wood comes in and the only way NO scores is through some tough McCollum shots. Damn bruh this one was super winnable

  24. StefonDiggsHS

I just hate that Josh Green has gone back to last years Josh Green. He looks scared and clueless out there. Even defensively he can’t stay in front of anyone.

  25. Simple_Wait_7286

This team is going nowhere beyond a first round exit, there are just too many holes.

No rim protector, rebounding stinks, and lacking in a big wing defender (similar to DFS) to help Green/Bullock. And now Luka is hurt, and even though he was clearly out of shape in recent games, it’s clear the carry-job he had in the first half of the season took its toll.

I will enjoy Luka/Kyrie for however many games they play together this season, and that is about all.

  26. Felipernani

at this point i feel we should just stop trying to play defensive guys like ntilikina and pinson, and also the “alleged” defensive guys like powell. just give their minutes to hardy, bertans and wood and let it rain. we can’t play good defense to save our lives. let the offense do their work, look where that got the kings so far. worst case scenario it’ll be more fun to watch 🤷🏻‍♂️

  27. lilsaucy32

I truly don’t give a fuck about Slovenian Luka stans. Downvote this all you want. I’m a MAVS FAN FIRST.

Luka needs to seriously be held accountable by people in this organization.

He’s overweight and keeps getting injured, we’re 4 on 5 on defense with him, and he’s pounding the shit outta the ball.

This guy actually looks like he’s hunting stats just to keep his #s up with Kyrie here now. He literally looks like the player all the haters talk about.

For everyone who thinks that Luka isn’t a bottom-tier defender still, he gave up a minimum of 2 or 3 point blank layups to H Jones just sleeping and standing still. Gave up a 3 arguing with the ref in the backcourt after getting a T. 2 baskets given up sleeping still + a 3 arguing + 1 for the T = that’s 8 pts minimum directly on him. We lost by 7. I get it, that’s not how this works entirely, but you guys get the point.

Luka is killing me because these are issues that are so correctable and basic. Other stars have genuine basketball flaws that can’t be fixed. Like some stars with no playmaking, some stars with no 3 ball, or no middy, no post game, no rim pressure, etc.

This guy is in year 5 still not giving a fuck about anything unless he has the ball in his hands. Per his stans, he was an ultimate team player on Madrid? I’m not seeing it.

  28. Barry_Fucking_Allen

Back to the play-in as quick as we left. I’m hopeful enough though that we can still work our way out of it soon with the schedule that we have left. Sad to see Luka out, even as huge a Luka meat rider as I am, I can admit he hasn’t been playing up to his usual level since he got injured playing the Suns in late January.

Cuban better show up to Kyrie’s place with a truck full of cash in the Summer.
