Fred taking that fine like a champ
Fred getting a tech for telling his *teammates* “we need to play through the bullshit” is unconscionable. The officiating this season is the worst I’ve ever seen it (the Tim Donaghy game-fixing stuff was before my time), easily. I used to watch a lot more basketball outside the Raptors, and I’d love to watch more outside the Raptors with the way this season is going, but the game is mostly unwatchable to me this year and the reason is the referees.

He’s a fucking martyr in my eyes cause that fine is gonna be generational.
If you ever go to games regularly, watch Nurse during tv timeouts and you can already see how the refs hate Nurse for his constant whining, They pretty much tune him out, while the refs look like they actually listen to the complaints of the opposing coach.
Constantly barking in the ears of the refs isn’t going to win Nick games so I’m not sure why he keeps it up. It’s like the coaches and players have bought into this narrative that everyone is out to get the Raptors.
Now with Fred’s comments it will just further this notion that the Raptors are whiners and expect them to get less favourable calls in the future. Refs won’t like getting shown up like what Fred did and they’re all going to communicate with each other.
