At the end of the day, Lauri and Kessler are just too fucking good lol

  2. Brutal win. We now fall to the 12th position in the lottery and end any chance of catching the Magic.

I was hoping we only win 4 games at most the rest of the season. Very happy if this is one of them. We have great drivers, so it was good to see us punish these guys without any rim protectors

We need Sexton on the floor stat. I think the combo of Lauri and Kessler is powerful but we need a solid point guard and Sexton can fill that with solid development

Also great win by the jazz!

This win is actually a loss. The Magic are going to be competition in the tank. This “win” isn’t good for us, but good for the Magic..

At least Lauri, and Walker had good games. Maybe free agents might sign here if they see Lauri, and Walker having good games, so they can be teammates with FINNISHER, and Blocker

    GAME NOTES:

Walker Kessler dominated that first quarter. Hell, those first 3 minutes he already had 3 blocks. He provided some great defense, and finished with 13 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting and a perfect 3-3 from the line. 10 rebounds, including a huge offensive rebound with 35 seconds left. He didn’t block another shot in the game, but still affected the Orlando Big’s. he was the best Big Man in the game.

Simone Fontecchio looked like a new man. His confidence was off the charts today. 4-5 shooting, he was 1-2 from 3, and 6-6 from the line. Although he was -13 in his minutes, he was active on defense getting 2 steals and had the 3rd most points on the team. He seriously looked so much more confident and comfortable today.

Agbaji also looked like a different player. 5-9, 4-8 from 3, but he was active in drives, kicking out, and making the right reads. Although he didn’t have an assist, I was impressed with his willingness to create and recognize when it was time to pass it. Also, does his shot look different now than it did earlier? It looks a tad faster. Could be crazy though.

Kriss Dunn again showed why he should be on a full contract. What a steal. 12 points, 3 steals, 3 assists, 8 rebounds. He closed the game out with THT, Agbaji, Markkanen, and Kessler and looked great. His ability to get into the lane and finish with a little floater or a tough move is similar to THT’s, but with more control. It’s also so fun watching him on defense. I wish we could’ve had him two years ago. Once a game he just has an insane defensive moment where he rips the ball away, or gets crafty and gets a cheeky steal, or something similar to that. It’s something I haven’t seen on the Jazz consistently since like 2017 with Rubio, but even Rubio wasn’t doing this.

Rudy Gay was trying to keep the tank alive, and I’m appreciative of him for that. 1 point, 0-3 shooting, 2 turnovers, 3 fouls, 1 assist. Wish he would’ve got more shot attempts up to help get that pick higher in the draft.

Lauri is so impressive wtf. I really am so surprised at how much he has blossomed this year. A cool 31 points, 11-22 shooting, 6-6 from the line, and 3-9 from 3. He really looked unstoppable. The length of Wagner disrupted him a bit, but it wasn’t bad enough for him to have an off night. He is just too long. Also had a very late dunk with .2 seconds left the Magic didn’t like lol

Kelly Olynyk also impressed me today. He is such a great passing big. He wasn’t too aggressive with the ball, scoring just 10, but he is so crafty for a guy his height. He handles the ball well for a C/PF, and passes at a rate I’d expect from like Marc Gasol. 10 points 7 assists 4 rebounds and he stayed out of foul trouble picking up just 2 fouls.

THT had a great game. 23 points, 8 assists, and most importantly only 2 turnovers! He shot 10-18, 2-5 from 3, and was comfortable playing PG. I know we won’t get this every night, but when he plays like this he looks like he’s a starting PG in the league.

I’m surprised that our closing lineups have been THT-Dunn-Agbaji-Lauri-Kessler these last few games only because Dunn and THT are pretty much the same type of player. They both need the ball in their hands to be effective, aren’t good shooters, but it worked tonight. Granted, it was against the Magic, but I’m surprised Hardy doesn’t try Juzang or Fontecchio.

To keep with my notes on Hardy, I was impressed he tried a 3-2 zone in the second quarter. It wasn’t the most effective, but it threw off the Magic’s rhythm after they came back in the game. In an era of 2-3 zones, it was interesting how coach was more willing to let Kessler out of the paint to guard the corner 3, something we didn’t get to see with Rudy & Q. I am really impressed with how well Hardy has done with this team. Pre and post trades, his offensive scheme’s to get players open is a lot of fun, and it isn’t sacrificing on team ball.

JTA didn’t play today, but Jones did. He didn’t impact the game too much, and was a good backup C. Way better than Dok, but nothing crazy.

As a team, we still need to try to limit OReb’s by opposing teams, but it evened out tonight. Our turnovers were at 17, but it was because everybody had like 2-3 instead of one guy having 6+. We did good at getting 26 assists, which is something I’ve been worried about since losing Conley. THT and Klynyk have impressed me with their ball sharing skills.

32-35 bitches. Would’ve been a big loss tonight for the tank, as this win puts us from 8th in the lottery to 12th. You just can’t contain Lauri, and Fontecchio had a great game also. I wonder if we maybe try to shut down Lauri a bit in the future, as 6th best odds in the lottery is still attainable.

its fun to watch kris dunn play his way back into the NBA. Its the story arc im most keying on for these last 15 or so games

  8. kushitokiku

Marked this as a win post-deadline so not surprised at the result, especially with Markkanen and Kessler playing.

Those comeback wins against Toronto and OKC, though, might bite the Jazz’s lottery position in the ass at the end of the year.

I still am unsure of why Gay had a legit contract and Dunn doesn’t

  10. BruhMoment763

Lauri, I love you man, but can you *please* chill out for, like, 15 games?

  11. musicnothing

Crazy that we have Kessler and Markkanen and a TON of picks and cap space we could use to trade for somebody great. We could be a great team in like one more season.

  12. MykeCecc

Can’t lose them all, that would be fixing games

  13. Doctor_Cowboy

Bol Bol looked like he was going to maybe turn into something with the Magic and now he’s battling for minutes with Goga fucking Bitadze
