[Oregonian] Trail Blazers to air alternate broadcast for 2 games featuring Neil Everett, Terry Porter and Antonio Harvey

I don’t know about you all, but I kind of like NE. Not that I want him replacing KC.

I like Kevin and Lamar, I even think theyā€™re better than Mike and Mike. Itā€™s an interesting aspect to add a ā€œlegendsā€ broadcast for people to choose from.

I love Terry porter so I accept this even if I think KC and Lamar are elite

I like NE a lot but will be doing my best to get the og stream

If this is them testing to see if they should change Calabro and Lamar I do not like it

I think in the future weā€™ll have multiple broadcast teams. I imagine that Kevin/Lamar are interested in paring back their schedule to make more room for family and other opportunities. Thatā€™s why they announced the change in road announcing, before reversing it. This is an opportunity for them to test alternate teams without alienating parts of the fan base.

Letā€™s go Tone! God, Antonio was great with Brian Wheeler on the radio, did his next venture go okay? I thought it was medical pot but itā€™s been so many years since I heard his name.

This is cool but kinda weird.. Almost like a slight against the regular broadcast crew, which IMO is one of the best in the business. Maybe the most functional department of the whole franchise. I’ll watch it, but I hope it isn’t a threat to Lamar and Brooke (we all know KC is on borrowed time).

When you say AIR, will it be on KGW? Or some shit ass stupidly expensive root sports thingy?

Terry Porter wasn’t good during his brief stint as part of the broadcasting team.

I love Neil Everett so Iā€™ll probably check this out for the Clippers game. Gonna be at the Boston one so canā€™t watch.

KC has consistently misnamed our teams players almost every game this season and it hasn’t been newly acquired players either. Father time is undefeated sadly. I expect he will announce a retirement at the end of this season or possibly in the offseason.

I’m curious what the point of this is. Calabro is gone once Seattle gets a team, but they haven’t announced expansion yet, so we still have a few years. Travis Demers stepping in seemed to be a terrific replacement.

I remember being able to just turn on blazer games. Good old days.

  14. Antonio is my boy! Canā€™t wait to hear him again.

side note but neil everett has the best quote on sports center ever in my opinion. it gives me chills just writing it.
He said, on motherā€™s day, while tearing up

ā€œi could carry every letter my mother ever wrote me, Iā€™m strong enough to do that, iā€™m just not strong enough to read themā€¦ā€

This is a good thing, give us another option. Iā€™m not the biggest fan of KCā€™s style. I know I might be in the minority but for a local broadcast, I prefer a little passion and homerism for the local broadcasts. KCā€™s heart is in Seattle, you can tell heā€™s never cared about the blazers.. heā€™s just doing a job.

Iā€™m extremely excited for this! This sounds fun!
