    People want Luka to be this big defender when he’s never been a lockdown defender yet people put him on a wall hoping he will become this…. Luka has been asked to do too much he’s broke records this year so we can’t say his effort isn’t there

    There’s blame to put on Luka for his conditioning and complaining but at the same time, Luka has been carrying the Mavs for years. He hasn’t just been a major component of the Mavs offensive engine, he IS the offensive engine. So much is asked of him and for the longest time, he was given little to work with. For the longest time, his teammates couldn’t knock down wide open shots Luka created and Luka would have to absolutely carry. We saw last season what happened when the Mavs had a solid to good roster surrounding him. The Mavs were the 4th seed and made it to the WCF. Imagine if the Mavs didn’t have injury and COVID issues to start the season. Mavs probably would have been the 2nd seed. Hate to sound like a doomer but I really believe we are witnessing the fall of the Mavericks as we know it. After the Mavs season ended last year, it’s been nothing but downhill for this team. I genuinely believe we will see Luka make a trade request in the next couple seasons and I can’t necessarily blame him. He’s got issues to work through with his emotions during games and his conditioning but he’s a top 5 player and the state of this team surrounding him is atrocious. Cool that we have Kyrie but Kyrie probably leaving. This has been the worst season to experience during my time as a Mavs fan. At least in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, we knew we weren’t gonna make the playoffs and could at least enjoy Dirk’s final years and get excited about the draft. What have we had to be excited about this season outside of Luka’s insane play which we’re used to at this point? This team is pathetic and doesn't care about winning. They're just there to collect their massive pay check and play casual basketball. This team has no grit or desire. It's genuinely pathetic.

    The answer's both. Yes the roster isn't as good as championship lvl rosters. But if Kyrie does stay, you know exactly what you need. A center that can defend/rebound and another wing that can defend. Now Luka has to do better. He is a generational talent and is one of the best players in the league. But his lack of effort defensively, him not getting back, complaining to the refs isn't helping the team either Because he's so good people overlook the bad that he does just because he's a superstar. He has to get better as well if he's going to lead this team for the future.

    I think its high time they finally tank for real. Trade anything of value, Trade luka for picks 2 or 3 years down the road. Actually get a damn center worth a crap. Learn to draft and develop talent.

    Dallas needs to Just let cristin wood play more.
    And Javel mogee, needs to be playing CENTER, so that some DEFENSIVE PRESENCE, can be felt by the opposing TEAM.
    AND JADEN HARDY, NEEDS TO BE IN THE ROTATION .
    Dallas is clearly playing the wrong people at Times

    To me its a luka problem he’s a very talented player but when he don’t get his calls from the refs he loses focus he’s too soft

    It's like Kyrie said there are 15 persons in a team. You keep putting it on Luka. The media is stupid for content. Why don't the media themselves play on the court so they can feel the pressure and competition

    Nah Luka is to blame 90p Jason kidd 10p. Three team moves great without luka on the floor. Mavs should just force him to do less.

    Issues with Luka become too big. IDK why others are too inconsistently in playing. In 2 Games with Kyrie without Luka they have the better rotation, everybody contributes, and better defense, and fastbreak is there. IDK if a play centered with Luka is still effective..

    Luka makes the right play the guys have to sink the shots . He plays ok defense when he is healthy .
