Julius Randle is averaging 27.7/10.9/4.7 on 55.2 TS% in 7 games without Jalen Brunson this season

For those people who think Randle needs Brunson to be successful, he has been balling out fine without Brunson this season. He is just going through a slump now, whether it is mental or he is just tired.

The TEAM needs Brunson, not just Randle.

  1. What about his stats in the 4th quarter when he’s out? How about turnovers? Win loss? You’re looking at the wrong numbers.

Delete this fam. Context doesn’t matter. Let’s just focus specifically on these last 3 games he’s struggled and not factor in other previous games he’s played well in…this fits the narrative that he’s a trash player w/o Brunson much better. /s

Yikes imagine how good those numbers would be without the last 3 games. 16-62 😬

The raw stats are meaningless. All you gotta do is actually watch the games to see the difference

It’s not his overall numbers that kill us, it’s his handling of the ball In close situations. For example in the 4th quarter against Boston he did everything in his power to lose that game with like 5 turnovers in that quarter alone. Yesterday went full on headcase to kill our momentum in that game too.

Sorry but you can’t ignore what we’re seeing from him the last few games. This is the stretch run. Soon are the playoffs. This guy simply can’t disappear on us again. He’s not making excuses, so no one here should be making them for him.

Never seen a fan base hate an all star on their team who plays every game. What a world.

They were 3-1 and he was averaging 31 before this 3 game skid. Feel like hes just slumping and Brunsons absence doesnt help/making it worse

Brunson or no Brunson Randle can put up #s. That definitely not his issue

  10. Randle lacks resolve fighting through adversity during games. He loses his temper and has a terrible attitude and it makes him a poor “leader”. His numbers have been great, and he’s all smiles when things are going well, but in the playoffs you’ll have to fight through tough stretches. I don’t have confidence that when push comes to shove in a playoff series Randle can keep it together and pull out wins from games going down to the wire.

Brunson is simply calm, cool, collected, and performs very well in the clutch and inspires confidence from the team. He is much more likely to help us win a playoff series when the stakes are high.

It’s been pretty clear that the end of the NFL season and the 9 game winning streak brought back a strand of fair weather Yankees fans that just want to find something to bitch about. The last 3 games have been undeniably tough to watch, but it’s a long season. The same fans were literally talking about our title chances a few days ago.

I think Brunson calms things down for him and makes his ability to dominate a bit easier. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

  13. not deliberately trying to offend here but this is one of those stat quotes that looks really dumb if you’re actually watching the games. If you actually watch the games it’s very clear that JR is much better and more impactful with Brunson handling the ball and getting it to JR where he’s comfortable.

Not only do we need our point guard to keep the team together, we need him to keep the fans from going absolutely batshit smh

It’s literally all about the end of games? You need Brunson to win those games since Julius as always been sub par down the stretch? I don’t really understand whats so difficultly about this argument.
