Still, him just being a threat from deep to spread the defense is nice.

  1. With New Yorks size, this would be a great game for Beasley to bounce back

  2. Honestly even before coming here he was already a pretty low percentage guy. He was shooting like 39% for the season 🤮 so we shouldn’t expect him to be lights out every night.

  3. Semiautodelicious

I’m I tripping or are teams guarding Malik so tightly like face guarding type of defense. They see him as a threat and that’s why he’s 0-7 from three is better than Westbrook’s 0-3

  4. I mean,if we win the games despite him going 1-7 and then he saves us on a game by going 7-7, it’s 100% worth it

  5. noplaceinmind

I’d rather he slump now than slump on the playoffs

  6. BoysenberryJunior294

Even when his shot isn’t dropping, defenses still respect him so it frees up other players. His shots will eventually fall 🤞🏾

  7. turtle931

He just needs to catch the ball and shoot. His handles are not great and his defense leaves a lot to be desired.

  8. AntSmith777

He could go 0-10 he’s still an upgrade over Pat Bev

    Need a masterclass today 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I would rather see Max getting some of those mins, better on both ends. Beasley is missing wide open shots a lot & causes turnovers. He seems scared, needs to get acclimated to the pressures of LA/ Hollywood lights. Seems like every shooter comes to LA & folds under pressure.

  11. Apprehensive-Law2435

“slumping” and still shooting 35% is incredible

  12. 3_Sad_Tigers

His shot hasn’t been falling, but seeing him completely lost on D (or not trying) is what really irks me

  13. gratitudeisbs

Opposing defenses guard him at the 3pt line like he’s curry. That’s valuable even if he’s shooting a low %. Lebron being back will create more open shots for him. He’s fine.

  14. intellectslang

Feeling like partly due to LeBron out. He’d have better shots with LeBron playing

  15. LosAngeles1s

betting over and under with Malik is like playing Russian Roulette

  16. coolnasir139

Well he is being pretty good since he’s still one of the only threats from 3 on the floor. It should be better now with Dlo and much better with Lebron. He’s still streaky AF even in his Minnesota days

  17. asinope-34

To be fair, being streaky as a high volume 3 pts shooter isn’t that surprising. You also see Klay Thompson going 0-7 or 3-13 and then 12-16

  18. JasonChild21

Has he always been this inconsistent? I just started watching him with the Lakers

  19. VyCanisMajorisss

It will get better with Dlo back and even better with Lebron. He and Rui need to have people set them up. Look how much better Rui was the past game.

  20. Old-Beginning5257

Dont get me wrong, I hope that he is able to get past this. Hoping for the best….but in the mean time?

  21. FuckRandyMoss

Law of averages he will do what he does just like klay people look into shit way too fast

  22. discussionandrespect

If he keeps playing like shit he won’t spread the defense anymore and defenders will sag off him

  23. odinlubumeta

Curious if fans would be happier if a player constantly hit 3 for 7 every game, or shot the same percentage over the year but had 1 for 7 nights and 7 for 7 nights. Ultimately it’s the same thing but it is different in the moment.

  24. PostMalone1212

If any of you guys have been watching the games recently they literally guard him like he’s curry on/off ball they are up his ass lol

  25. mo3mon3y

Technically every shooter is streaky even Steph and Klay have off days

  26. socialmediablowsss

I haven’t really poured through it but maybe it’s a case of: some teams play off him, and he scores, and some teams play him tight, and if he struggles maybe it’s those nights (but still creates space and does other things)

Although last game it seemed like he struggled and Ham just didn’t wanna play him as much. I can’t recall the openness of his shots besides the fast break layup he bricked in the 1st Q

  27. Laughoutloud49

I think this is partly because of Ham gassing him up and telling him to take every shot he gets. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to give your players confidence at all, but that could get in his head every time he shoots wondering if he should take it. His coach wants him to take a tough contested 3 that he normally would not which could have an adverse effect.

  28. theseustheminotaur

Spreading the floor doesn’t necessarily mean “making shots” it means having the defense guard you wherever you are, so that the floor is more open for other players. Beasley spreads the floor when he is out there, and you see easier shots for other people. This is important and doesn’t show up in his box score.

  29. jacko1998

This is literally how percentages work…

This sub is so fucking dumb

  30. guyfromthepicture

It’s funny how laker fans don’t watch basketball. Any volume shooter that is consistent is like a max player

  31. DrakesHerpes

I know the vibes are positive these days, but not gonna pretend it’s okay if he shoots bricks because he’s still spreading the defense.

  32. More than the points he scores or 3’s he makes, his value is in his gravity. He will always have a defender or two close to him, opening up chances for other Lakers players.

  33. 824Mentality

And if he shoots even worse, him being out there still opens up the lane
