I don’t normally agree with Pompey, but his final two paragraphs are right on the money

“Embiid should win this season’s MVP award. Forget the anayltics and statistics. The eye-test tells you he’s the best player. He’s not only the league’s most dominant player, but Embiid is the rare player who can dominate both ends of the court.

And the plays he’s making just aren’t normal, especially for a guy his size. That’s what makes all that he’s accomplishing more special — an MVP-type special.”

The Jokic circle jerk is honestly absurd and borderline conspiracy worthy. He’s a fucking garbage defender. Embiid is playing on a different level on both sides of the ball. It’s not a debate. Embiid is playing better basketball.

It’s been obvious three years in a row.

The NBA charades is why I stopped watching non sixer games this year.

Listening to nba radio this weekend and whatever analyst was talking about the mvp race said he moved luka out of his top 5 because luka wasn’t a difference maker on defense. Still put embiid at 2 and jokic at 1. Insanity

  5. The fact that there are people who seriously feel that Jokic deserves to have more MVP’s than Jordan, Kobe, Shaq and Duncan is insane.

Jokic is an exceptional player, but for him to win a 3rd MVPs in a row would be BS. Lebron and Kobe won 2. Jokic ain’t no Lebron James or Kobe Bryant. And James was probably robbed of a couple. I get the MVP voters are enamored with the assists from the Jokic, but historically the MVP very often went to the scoring champion. Jokic isn’t chasing guards out of the paint like Joel, he doesn’t defend other big men like Joel and the head to head match ups favor Embiid. I’m really not a big fan of the MVP conversation. I think it is mostly fluff created by the media that needs these conversations to get an audience to keep them relevant, but there have been times this year where I watched Embiid finish a game where I said to myself he looked like Jordan or Kobe tonight. If Jokic wins a 3rd MVP the voters are saying he is the best player in the league. But as good as he is, he as sure AF is not that guy.
