I became a Hartenstein hater about halfway through the season. He couldn’t really play to his advantages and just generally moved awkwardly on the court. Props to him for adapting his game to better fit the scheme while finding his feet on defense. He’s truly become an asset and tonight is a great example

Lmao he decided to play basketball today in pulling down those rebounds instead of volleyball and slapping the ball to God knows where 😂

He really stepped up today defensively. Dunno what was up with Mitch today but glad Hartenstein stepped up.

He had a really nice find on Toppin cutting backdoor in addition to his stellar defense and rebounding today.

Dude plays hard and is a great teammate.

What a turnaround from earlier this season, when some expected him to be a stretch playmaking 5 that could threaten Mitch’s starting spot. He went through a lot of (partly justified) criticism for his poor play, when it turns out that our offensive scheme was really a poor fit.
Where lots of players tend to sulk and complain about the system, this man instead put his head down and got to work. His defensive rebounding is night and day from the start. His rim protection now borders on eliteHe stopped taking 3s and transitioned into more of a handoff facilitator role from the free throw line which transformed our bench lineups. And, he’s gotten a lot better at avoiding fouls, although referees still judge him by his reputation.
All in all, Hartenstein has been an incredibly valuable piece to one of the great Knicks teams of this century .

Was hating on this trade and on Josh for a bit. I’ve been proven wrong, he’s the man.
