Fred VanVleet was fined $30,000 for his tirade against the referees after the Raptors lost to the Clippers on Wednesday. Coach Nick goes deep into the footage to figure out if VanVleet has a point that some refs have lost the integrity of the game.

  1. I don't believe in technical fouls. you're literally trying to take the emotion out of an emotional game. It should be like the nfl. if the ref makes a bad call you should be able to berate them. Like at 3:40 you call a tech because he's talking??? Referees need to stope making it about them. Can't give someone a tech and potentially ruin the game because a player hurt your feelings

  2. Your presentation shows the fairness of the reffing but I still think there’s disparity. A team the raptors play gets hit softly it’s a whistle. If a raptor player gets hit harder and disadvantaged, it’s no call. The types of calls are still not consistent for both teams. Maybe instead of reffing a team or it’s players a certain way due to play style or what have you, just ref both teams equally. It’s not about the techs, it’s about the balance of the calls

  3. post how many dislikes this video bc we all know you are wrong here and being paid or in some way supported to make a bias video favoring the refs here

  4. The last few years have been tough. NBA refs are temperamental and yah they over do it. Raptors aren’t the only team short changed by the calls. Hopefully this situation will offer an opportunity for discussion and make positive changes that appease both players and refs.

  5. NO ONE I MEAN NO ONE IS HERE TO SEE THE REFS MAKE THE GAME ABOUR THEM I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE W VAN VLEET

  6. I dont know about this vid coach, agreed a lot with your other ref vids but this one seems a little off

  7. So the 31 14 free throw disparity had nothing to do with why the Raptors lost huh? This ain't it chief.

  8. Nice vid pal, cherry picking is how you get the cherries, but I watch every Raptors game so I aint eating your pie. If we were refereed like Miami, or Boston all would be fine. More importantly, what man is above having his integrity questioned? The whole idea of America is that NO MAN IS ABOVE THE LAW.

Your video is well produced victim blaming. But guess what? We don't do that anymore. Our skirts are not too short. We are not sluts, and it doesn't matter if they are, or they were. Doesn't matter what we say, or what we did. We want justice. We aint getting it.

Now, as for your theory that FVV should shut up and dribble, I know you are a longtime Phil Jackson fan. We both have seen Phil do this exact thing, and Kerr did it as well with his team when THEY had the problem with the referees. When we were growing up, the done thing was to keep secrets no matter what. No longer, and thank the stars for that! Authority must not be above questioning! It's on authority to be visibly beyond reproach! AND THEY ARE NOT.

  9. The problem is the consistency in which the rules are applied. I'd like to see how many of these "clear violations" are applied to star players like Lebron, Steff etc. I'd bet that a "non call" study relative to the "top 10 players" would be interesting.

  10. Instead of penalising emotional outbursts, how about just stop speaking to players? Only allow the coaches to speak to or question the refs and relay that to the players. Then if a player approaches the ref just call a tech. Clear and simple.

  11. Time to unsubscribe to this channel lol.
How can a coach make a video like this when clearly teams don't get the same type of calls.

  12. Softest league ever lmao and they wonder how lebron for the scoring accolade 😂

  13. Do you see this man Ben Taylor’s haircut???? Clearly he wants attention and the game to be about him. Refs are humans too and yea they do in fact have agendas

  14. Dang, this is the first video where I'm not aligned with Coach's views. You give the benefit of the doubt to referees in your examples, but then make questionable statements about foul calls like they're facts. I'd be surprised if you weren't sponsored by the NBA Referees Association.

  15. I’m not sure what players are expected to do in high pressure situations when they disagree with a call. Especially when they are made inconsistently throughout a game. It’s an inhuman level of stoicism required, more so when star players get calls/get away with fouls that bench guys & rookies don’t. If the refs don’t want to be questioned they need to do a better job. The burden of keeping calm needs to be on the refs, not the players. The players union should be consulted when rule changes like the gently passing the ball off the hoop stantion or to refs being a T
