At a minimum we should be slightly concerned about this team. We were killers but now as of late have been playing like morons

  2. This team is not playing Championship basketball. Its hard to have any confidence in this team to win a 7 game series right now with how horribly inconsistent it is against even trash teams.

  3. Plastic_Database_645

I’d be more than happy if that stat was in reversed.

With the loss on Rockets right now, I’m completely worried come playoff time.

  4. NotFlipkid

Maybe the boneheads in this sub will now see that the defense has been a major red flag since the home opener. Luckily Embiid was lazy to start the season.

  5. I_Set_3_Alarms

Beat the Bucks, have some good wins, and then that’s probably enough at this point. 1 seed seems like it’d take really going for it, I don’t know if it’s gonna happen.

Of course they responded to the Thunder loss well so who knows. Stoudamire leaving is going to affect them too

  6. BrianScalaweenie

It really doesn’t feel like this team has “it”. Second half of last season + playoffs was a team that had “it” but not anymore. I’m not sure if it’s injuries, coaching changes, something else or a little of everything but every day I start to lose hope that this team actually has what it takes to win it all.

  7. coacoanutbenjamn

Also consider that the 21-5 start was fueled by outlier shooting from our role players

  8. MarquisJames

I mean we weren’t going to maintain the hot start but a lot of these losses are just dumb losses.

  9. Mr_Driver_1992

Homers need to wake up and come back into reality.

That 21-5 team was built on GOAT shooting. Not historical. Better than that. That was the greatest 3 point shooting stretch in the history of the NBA. It was unstainable.

26-17. Folks. This. Is. Who. We. Are.

This isn’t a championship team. Too weak mentally.

  10. Beantown00

Mazzula isn’t a good coach for this team. He doesn’t even have rotations figured out with 13 games left in the season lol

  11. doflamingo34

this team better perform in the playoffs or trades coming in the off season

  12. TheFirstExecutioner

No point in watching the games. All you have to do is look at our box score 3PT stats to know if we win. All this team knows how to do is jack up 45 threes a game and hope we can make over 40% of them. Otherwise we’re cooked against even the worst teams like Houston

  13. Jpgamerguy90

Honestly it’s the roster construction. Our Point Guard depth is elite but outside of Horford our 4/5 is a fucking mess. Kornet sucks, he is 7 foot and soft as baby shit, 0 offensive game.

And no matter how bad Tatum is offensively this team is objectively better when he’s on the floor.

  14. Aggressive_Camp7336

There is literally no case where Mazulla is a better coach than Ime. Ime took a broken 2021 team and turned it into a finals level team in half a season. Mazulla took a finals level team and broke it in half a season.

  15. Organic_Climate_7585

Oh here we go 🙄 how many stats like this are we gonna see? Any person can isolate any stretch they want to make whichever point they want. It’s dumb to do this instead of looking at the season as a whole.

  16. boykalbo777

it’s the reverse from last year so we win the finals this year then?

  17. kokain99

When they are going into Game 7 vs Miami again they might realize they treated the season wrongly.

  18. Happy_Yogurtcloset_2

    There’s no switch being flipped

  19. bortle_kombat

Mazulla seems in over his head. I don’t think he can figure out how to get these guys up for games like Udoka could. I’m not even really blaming him, with how the season started how could he have been prepared? Plus this is mostly the same guys that burned Brad out, don’t seem to be the easiest group to motivate.

These guys remind me a lot more of the 20-21 Celtics than the 21-22 squad.

  20. If smart and Tatum play like that, we won’t make it to the 2nd round

  21. RekLeagueMvp

I prefer to look at the season after the terrible December slump where we finished 22-10 and are 25-12 after that.

  22. Top-Manufacturer9850

This time last year we were blowing teams out by 30 in the first half with nightly twitter posts like “The Celtics have won 9 straight” “Celtics 12-1 in last 13 games” etc

  23. cant ime say hes really sorry and come back or something

  24. ericdeben

We peaked at the wrong time. Maybe next season.

  25. hypercafspazz

At the risk of sounding like a doomer it does sort of feel like they’ve been nosing in slowly for a long time now.

I think they’ll turn it around before the playoffs and get back to playing great again.

  26. KilgoretheTrout55

This reminds me of the 2010 team. They went .500 in the second half of the season.

  27. minimumhatred

It is worrisome, part of me thinks that they might turn the intensity back up in the playoffs, but the defense has been lax and the offense hasn’t been crazy as it was to start the year. we lost to the Knicks twice and in one of those games allowed three separate dudes to score more than 25.

  28. ReyCo390

So the inverse of last season, first round playoff exit incoming.

  29. Hufflepuff_Baseball

At least the Bruins seem like the real deal…

  30. eminemappears

I’m holding out hope that the Celtics are saving the best adjustments, like not jacking up 3s as an offensive game plan, for the post season. If you’re a team that thinks they can win it all you don’t care about seeding because you already have the belief you’ll beat everyone in your conference.

    Cope

  31. Ime was/is the coach for this team. Not this bullshit selfish, jack up 3s basketball. Killer mentality at this point last year we were blowing teams out now we are losing to the worst of the worst lol. Let Ime do whatever in his private life it doesnt affect the coaching which is what he is paid to do so why get rid of him.

  32. D3uceeee

Tatum not taking responsibility when we’re having adversity… not mvp type in my opinion. He’s just there for the stats, cool. But when he’s bad, he’ll let you know he’s playing bad by shooting a lot more contested shots. If you really think we can win the chip this season, i’m just saying hop off the copium and just lower down your expectations. We’re not beating the bucks with this dogsht defense.

  33. FlyingEmu999

A few weeks ago I was very worried.

Then the Brooklyn and New York games happened early this month and I left worried in the rear view mirror and gave up on them.

In theory, they could flip the switch; in practice there is no switch.

Maybe a coach with experience would have been a good choice.

  34. Distance_Motor

That is… not ideal, to say the least

  35. I hate how we play like we’re the 2017 Rockets. No team has ever won a title that way and no team ever will. Teams that attack open space and pass well almost always win it all. We can’t even defend like we did last year. Sixers are gonna smoke this team in the 2nd round.

  36. Underrated_Fish

I’ve been saying this for weeks and everyone still acts like the C’s are the best team in the league

They are mid as fuck and need to get their shit together

  37. SaintSavage1

In the last 43 games Celtics are 26-17. The Miami Heat in last 43 games are 25-18. Celtics are playing almost as horrible as the Heat for more than half the season

  38. Hopefully we can turn it up, but idk we might be 1st or second rnd exits this yr

  39. TwistedApe

We’re good enough to get to the ECF, but that’s where the Buck stops (us) 😉 as Milwaukee will probably smoke us
