does the games he already miss count?
i’m going to assume No.
So he’s only missing 3 more games. He’s back back lol.
More Woj: Suspension covers the six games he’ll miss, including tonight vs. Miami. He is eligible to play on Monday vs. Dallas, the same day that he’s able to rejoin the Grizzlies in the team environment. His ramp up to return will begin on Monday, and return to games soon thereafter, sources said.
So can he be on the bench until he’s back or is he away from the team still?
I hope he comes back with fire and focus and shakes the haters off in true Memphis form.
M-town loves a good comeback story
roflmto
Remember when folks were saying he’s out at least the rest of the season and that’s why they gave Steven Adam’s the go-ahead to get the stem-cell attachment?!
That game is going to sell out!
well that was fast. Let’s hope he’s doing outpatient treatment/counseling at least?
FedEx Forum finna go nuts for him 🥷🏾
JAllelujah 🙏🏾 Time for the redemption arc!
r/NBA calling this a slap on the wrist. Not sure I agree but no point in saying it there…
Such a sad day for the haters 😭
So a slap on the wrist. I expected the rest of the season. A little disappointing.
I won’t be happy until he renounces gun violence, guns, strip clubs, ugly strippers, strip club food and his family. Then, all will be forgiven 🙏
This is great. People are talking so much shit and saying it’s impossible to change that fast but this has to be one hell of a wake up call because I’m sure the team and the league were very clear that he’s on thin ice and how much he’s actually risking.
Lol r/NBA is REALLY upset.
Not hungover Ja and Grizzlies incoming?
Hopefully the stuff about taking care of himself wasnt PR bullshit. Ja is one of my favorite players to watch and I hope he has a long and healthy career.
As a Yankee fan I remember when CC Sabathia left the team near the end of the season for his alcohol issues and missed our entire post season run, a lot of fans were kind of upset, but in the long run CC came back healthier and happier and has been involved in a lot of Yankee media and fan events to this day..
Watching Ja down those bottles of tequila was concerning to say the least so hopefully the NBA, Grizzlies, and his support group has his best interest in mind.
Whole lotta people out there running their mouths with no facts look real dumb right about now
Awesome. Rooting for you ja! Now just to get back our kiwi legend.
From The Commercial Appeal:
Morant told Jalen Rose that he is talking to therapists, doing reiki treatment and doing anxiety breathing to help manage and release.
“I feel mentally (better) than I have in many years,” Morant said. “I’m in a space where I’m very comfortable.”
Morant called his decision to go on Instagram Live inside a club a “terrible mistake.” The NBA’s finding concluded that the handgun didn’t belong to Morant, and the two two-time All-Star confirmed that it wasn’t his.
Ja Morant in first public interview since NBA suspension, gun video: ‘I made a bad mistake’
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant sat down with ESPN’s Jalen Rose in his first public comments since March 4, when the point guard went on Instagram Live and brandished a handgun hours after a road loss to the Denver Nuggets. That incident led to an eight-game suspension issued by the NBA on Wednesday.
One of the first steps Morant took after his incident was pledging to find better ways to handle stress and his well-being. He took action by going to a counseling program in Florida.
Before the season, Morant admitted that he’s a victim of not talking to anyone when his life gets tough.
Morant called his decision to go on Instagram Live inside a club a “terrible mistake.” The NBA’s finding concluded that the handgun didn’t belong to Morant, and the two two-time All-Star confirmed that it wasn’t his.
“I don’t condone any type of violence, but I take full responsibility for my actions,” Morant said. “I made a bad mistake. I can see the image that I painted over myself with my recent mistakes, but in the future, I’m going to show everybody who Ja really is, what I’m about and change this narrative.”
Morant called his meeting on Wednesday with NBA commissioner Adam Silver “an open discussion” about things he needs to improve at and support.”
“I realize I have a lot of kids who look up to me,” Morant said. “Even some adults. I realize my past mistakes isn’t being a good role model. Just got to be better in that area, be more responsible, be smarter and make better decisions.”
Morant is eligible to return to the Grizzlies on March 20, when the team plays against the Dallas Mavericks at FedExForum. Since Morant will need a ramp-up period after being away for 16 days, his return on the floor will likely come later that week.
