Scrub to 32:45 to listen to the convo on The BS podcast. Nothing new here but hey, at least our boy isn’t #1!

Bill’s NBA talk has been pretty bad by his standards this season. the Spotify checks got him too fat, he’s not hungry anymore.

Too lazy to listen but who is number one?

  4. I really like Beal and think he is a very good to great player. But that contract is such a franchise back-breaker.

  5. He’s definitely #1. They’re just being generous.

Bertans’s contract became bad when his magical run came to an end. But Beal’s contract was awful the moment it was even thought of in someone’s mind, before Beal ever played another game again.

It’s gonna be regarded as a bad contract because we can’t really make any moves that move the needle that much. At the end of the day it’s not our money so all we can do is root for our team and hope for the best lol. Finger crossed that Tommy can move him in the offseason

  7. This contract is just the first of many. People are going to realize how bad the league fucked up with the cap percentage on the “supermax” when more than half the teams in the league have one. Brad is just the first. You have to overpay to keep the talent you draft and teams already have a huge problem retaining talent.

It’s like how the most overpaid QBs in the NFL don’t make it as far in the playoffs. The prime time to compete is before the first huge contract kicks in and you can afford to pay stars at other positions. After that you’re cooked unless you have a generational talent like Giannis (or in this analogy, Mahomes).

Potential worst contract on the horizon… I think it’s gotta be Zion. He doesn’t even play more than half the season in his 4th year.

whats sad is though if he was a flat $35M or $33M a year it would be a very very solid deal. That no trade clause and then the fact he escalates to $50M+ a year just puts it over the top. Paying Giannis kind of money for no where near the same kind of output.
