McMillian and LP instilled .500 or less than .500 basketball into the team. Going to take more than a few weeks to get them out of the habit of looking for long 2s, over helping on defense, no off the ball movement, etc.
If he had led us to a good record for that stretch in December where we had the easiest schedule we wouldn’t be in this damn mess

Should’ve brought Quin in as lead assistant for the rest of this season and let Big Joe run his master class gameplan until then

Nate McMillian if Nate McMillian was in the front office

Literally still .500 without Nate and a new coach that is brand new to the team. Makes you wonder what Nate was actually doing, if anything.

I have been consistently downvoted for saying that Nate wasn’t the solution, but he also wasn’t the problem and we had better temper our expectations in terms of what can be accomplished via a coaching change alone. Some changes will require tweaks to the roster whereas others require a long-term change in culture and not just fresh tactics or a new voice.
I’m gonna keep saying these two things…
1. We are a midrange jump shooting team in a league that is all about hitting 3s and attacking the rim
2. Defense is more a matter of scheme and effort than personnel
How much of that can be quickly fixed by simply changing from Nate to Quin?
To be clear, I like the hire of Quin and I think adding Bey and resigning Bogi are both signs that maybe the front office has accurately diagnosed the problem and is in the process of fixing it. But it’s gonna take at least one full offseason to see real results.
