Of course the players have to publicly show their support for the coach, cause he’s shown that he plays favorites all year long. I’m glad he’s getting the scrutiny he deserves… He’s arguably the worst coach in the league

  2. DoncicsRoadTo200kg

Yeah Id also like a boss who dosent hold me accountable when I fuck up, dosent mean he is a good boss, still terrible.

How Kidd tells Luka to play defense

  4. dimmadomedimmadome

The players in this article are Josh Green and DP. Both need to publicly kiss his ass. Nothing article.

Reminds me a lot of the complaints regarding Jason Garrett. Cowboys replaced him and still got the same or worse results. Hard to win games when you are dealing with tons of injuries and outside of Kyrie and Luka very mediocre talent, especially on the defensive side.

  6. She gave 2 quotes and it’s representative of the whole team??? Not to mention, of course players are complimentary to the incumbent coach, no fuckin duh.

I mean that’s better than nothing, but It doesn’t strongly sway opinion at all.

  7. Yeah most people thinks he sucks is reddit and Twitter, and we know not to give any shit about those opinions.

So you mean to tell me having a coach that shows a calm demeanor instead of freaking out and panicking and letting that language carry over to players can actually be good? Well color me shocked.

I think some people on this sub are so caught up in the “hate Jason Kidd narrative” that they don’t realize what exactly he’s doing. Showing panic and fear can carry over to the team. Being calm and showing faith in your players can help keep emotions afloat. Dude obviously cares, but he’s in such a volatile situation the worst thing to do is rock the boat and have players start panicking

Theory: the players actually really liked the “No one is dying” quote, despite the mocking from this sub.

Let’s think from Kyrie’s perspective. He clearly hates NBA owners. They’re a cabal of global elite who force him to “perform” in front of crowds in order to make more money and oppress more people.

He cares more about social justice issues, saving the world, blah blah. But all the media will ask him is “How many times did you put ball in hoop? Do you think team will win shiny metal trophy?” They’re all pawns.

So when Kidd makes comments that put the players’ health first, with an “it’s just basketball who cares lol” vibe, that really speaks to Kyrie.

TL;DR Kyrie is re-signing book it

Jason Kidd isn’t under fire from anyone except faceless Mavs social media doomers who became fans of the team within the past 5 years.

I don’t think anyone (maybe very few people) claims that players don’t like Kidd. But being liked doesn’t change the fact that his rotations and late game plays are ass. Lots of coaches are liked but simply not good at their job

  12. I’d like my boss too if he let me do anything and he takes the blame for it.

  13. FinancialRabbit388

What the fuck does him being a HOF pg have to do with anything? If anything, we’ve seen the opposite. Great players don’t make good coaches.

  14. FinancialRabbit388

Judging by the comments getting downvoted, it appears I’ve wandered into the Jason Kidd fan club thread.

Can some one share the full access to the article?

Getting to the WCF last season was the worse thing to happen for Kidd. It gave the fans and media expectations that are difficult to achieve as a second year coach with roster limitations. It’s two seasons and everyone thinks a system should be perfect by now. This franchise and players don’t get better by calling for the coaches head whenever it’s not looking good. Look at other franchises that continue to fire every head coach after a couple seasons because there’s no patience to let a system develop. Will it really change the mind of you team doomers if he just said “it’s on me” to the media? You guys are pathetic.

  17. jennyisafriend

Told yall Kidd ain’t going nowhere! Keep crying and making your wish lists for coaches lol.

  18. Incompetent coach is loved by the players because he doesn’t hold them accountable. The entire franchise is a mess from top to bottom.

  19. Am I shocked players like Kidd? No. I am more shocked of the amount of support for Kidd on here.

  20. SirArthurConanSwole

Why can’t we find our Ty Lou? A competent X and O’s coach that holds players accountable while also maintaining good relationships with them. Man got Westbrook screening, shooting efficient shots, and crashing the boards again.

  21. durstcobain

Maybe by “style” they mean his choice of glasses. Gotta admit clear frames are a slick look.

  22. little-evil77

All it took to get the rageaholics on r/mavericks to flip was one non-negative DMN article.

  23. Extra_Lumpy

People love not being held accountable. Neat and newsworthy. Terrible for results.

  24. Mrdrock54

This sub is crazy. They want Jason kidd neck every chance they lose but don’t factor into the players are the ones playing. Man took dog shit to the west finals and loved when that clip of him coaching Doe last year went viral for his defense.

But expect him to be the savior when 7 games without luka they lose because other players couldn’t step up.

Get kyrie then luka gets hurt. Half the season maxi was hurt ona freak accident. Mans doing what he can. Rick had luka for 3 years and got washed in the playoffs. First year with luka Kidd gets them to west finals. 5 through 13 in the west is se peraltes by 2 1/2 games and y’all want this mans head. Shits wild

  25. Calliesdad20

They like almost being out of the playoffs

  26. blanfredblann

Kidd’s demeanor is fine, probably his best quality. It’s his rotations, schemes, and in-game decision making that are the problems. How do you fix that?
