No one wants to hear this, but given that Miami is for sure a tax team next season, my guess is that we bring Strus and Gabe back using their Bird Rights to round out the roster because we’re over the cap and we have extremely limited options to sign any new free agents. I would imagine deals similar to what Caleb got for both of them. It would make more sense to get something back for either or both down the line as opposed to just letting them leave for free and we’re stuck signing minimum guys that won’t contribute nearly as much as those two.
The other scenario is that we somehow manage to trade Lowry and/or Duncan, and bring back several good rotation pieces from those trades, then we can let Gabe and Strus walk.
