Mike Conley on MVP: “I love Jokic, but the two times I played against Joel this year, I think he got 60 the first time we played him in Philly…in Minnesota I think he didn’t even have to play in the fourth but had like 40. I haven’t seen anyone be as dominant as him with my own eyes this season.”

> “I love (Nikola) Jokic, but the two times I played against Joel this year, I think he got 60 the first time we played him in Philly. Then he did similar to us in Minnesota. I think he didn’t even have to play in the fourth quarter but had like 40. I haven’t seen anybody be as dominant as him with my own two eyes this season. He’s been doing it (for) a while. I think Joel has a real chance to be there.”

I won’t believe it til it’s true, but it seems like people are finally getting it. A consensus seeeems to be forming unless Giannis does something crazy in the next few weeks.

  2. CaptainButtFucker

Agreed. The eye test clearly says Embiid is better than Jokic. At least in my opinion.

  3. Watch them both play and you can see who the more dominant player is. Its when it becomes math class with VORP, RAPTOR, PER that jokic looks like the MVP. I’d pick the one who actually plays defense personally

  4. Nice-Lobster-8724

Gotten to the point where I really don’t give a shit who wins it and I just want all the discourse to stop

  5. Yergason

I have Embiid leading the race but it’s dumb as fuck to cherry pick 2 specific games as your decider for MVP out of an 82-game season.

  6. Prestigious-Rock201

All the players came out today and said embiid mvp damn

  7. childishgames

Why are they trying so hard to convince us lol relax

  8. nowhathappenedwas

The best part of “judge MVP by the two times I played against him this season” is that Conley actually played against Embiid three times this season.

  9. snyckers

It’s crazy how good all three have been this year or last three years even. Would be funny though if, after all this, Kawhi, Curry, or LeBron just drag their teams to another title.

  10. thebiggesthater420

This discourse is annoying. Just give it to Embiid already so the constant whining from sixers fans can stop.

  11. JuiceMayo

Give it Embiid, they’ll lose to Boston in round two anyways so who cares

  12. MegatonDeathclaws

Good lord dude, these guys need to stop sucking Embiid off. Jokic is simply better all around end of story.

  13. thewillsta

Giannis is maybe a notch below the other two offensively but a much better defender and has the best record in the league

  14. BiasedChelseaFan

I prefer Embiid because of two great games.

  15. AllOutRaptors

Please just fucking give it to Embiid so we can all shut up

  16. bigrat4L

Do people legitimately believe that Embiid is a better basketball player than Jokic 🤣

  17. HiImWallaceShawn

Michael Conley Jr. everyone, your 2023 NBA KIA MVP

  18. manbeqrpig

Who cares. All three deserve to win and therefore the outcome doesn’t matter. I would love to see MV3 but I think all three fanbase would agree that playoff success is what they actually care about

  19. JackMeHoff266

I think the mvp conversation is starting to get annoying.

  20. Treyred23

    Switch the players .

Embiid on Denver. Jokic on Philly.

Which team is better than they are now?

THE AFRICAN ELEPHANT in the room vs. SPORT MEDIA’S HOPE

Real ones know. Dude has been nothing less than dominant on all three levels nd stays at FT line… defensively.. he’s a load… and lets not forget he was snubbed last year…

  22. Jonathank92

I have no dog in the fight but it’s funny when Joel finally starts getting love “the discourse is getting annoying” meanwhile there has been a jokic love fest for months lol

  23. dammit_bobby420

Jokic didn’t even play in the matchups against Minnesota I think lol

  24. realtripper

Anyone else just think it’s cool 3 international players are competing for mvp

  25. DEEZLE13

Funny he decided to add in that 4th quarter part lol

  26. KarlHungusIII

As a big Jokic fan, I agree. Embiid has been on an absolute heater and is the most unstoppable player in the league at the moment.

  27. That game against Utah was crazy. Completely unstoppable. Dominating on D. I’ve been leaning towards Embiid for MVP since then tbh.

  28. SquidDaBib

Nuggets fan from Pittsburgh, and I love Embiid. I love seeing big men dominate (including Giannis). I just wish a big man would dominate me one time.

  29. Puzzleheaded_Rent_22

I’m a jokic and nuggets fan but want Embid to win it this year.

  30. AFonziScheme

After a quick check of a handful of MVP-types, the vs. Mike Conley specifically MVPs are…..

    *Embiid: 42.7/8.3/4.7

    *Jokic: 19.5/7/6

    *Tatum: 22/12/2

    *Doncic: 33/8.5/8.5

    *Curry: DNP

    *Giannis: DNP

  31. I kind of wish players still voted for MVP or some equivalent award.

Granted that players give no shits about analytics and often have hot takes that overvalue iso skill, but I still want to know their take on the top dog more than I want to know, like, Chris Broussard’s.
