Because the guy we traded turned that team into a top 3 seed, when that team hasn’t made Playoffs since 2006
mcmaples
We gave up the guy that going to be 4th in MVP voting this year

I’m not sure I’d put him top 10 Yet but also ya sabonis was a good get for the kings
FloorSlanger24
we got him because Kevin Pritchard is a great President regardless of what anyone says. The fact that we got oladipo, sabonis, and now haliburton all from trading PG when he demanded out was a hall of fame move on Pritchards end.
Motion_Offense
Ehhh he would have to be top 5 in the east and I don’t think he is

According to 538’s RAPTOR ratings, he’s a top 5 offensive player and is tied with Sabonis and PG for 16th in WAR.
KangTheConqueror9
He’s not top 10, probably top 20.
Players better in my opinion and in no particular order: Embid, Jokic, Giannis, LeBron, AD, Zion, SGA, Luka, Tatum, KD, Steph, Booker, Ja, Dame, Kawahi, Mitchell.

You can slice and dice stats anyway you want, but true Top 5 and Top 10 guys are based on media narrative and actual analysis of game play, and as much as I love Hali, you can’t truly be a too 5-10 guy from a League MVP perspective when you’re on a non-contender, sub 500 team.
Bodes well for the future, but feels kinda empty right now. If he’s doing this next year and we’re consistently beating solid teams, then yeah, he’s in that league.
godofhammers3000
Top 10 is pretty arbitrary because there’s not much of a difference between the 10th and 11th best player in the league. You have to do it in tiers and for me he’s probably in the same tier as SGA. Which is to say he’s really fucking good

Traded away an all star is how.
Servbot24
Tyrese is not top 10. He might be top 20 though.

I think it’s a stretch to say he’s good at defense. He’s kind of like Nash in where he gets some opportunistic steals but ultimately he’s a net negative on defense.

Sometimes lightning strikes and we bottled it up. They better not let this man go cause lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice…
