Beat the “he isn’t injured, it’s purely mental” accusations.

Pinched nerves are no joke. They are super painful and take a very long time to recover. I had one at the top of my spine and was originally told 4-6 weeks recovery with rehab, ended up being 2 years with constant pain and flare ups.

The only real way to recover is just rest, and any type of movement can set it off again. Feel bad for Ben, can completely understand why he hasn’t been himself this year.

Let him rest. Let him heal. Very clear many times on the floor that he was trying to push through something, but just couldn’t.

Now we know. Get him rest. Hope he returns next season in all-star PG form. This team needs a good PF and we’ll be solid assuming Ben can be the PG of the future.

have one. constant pins and needles and numbness all down my arm.

Mental or not if he’s got one he’s got one and it’s a problem

If this ends up sidelining him next season as well we get a Disables Player Exception right?

“While we determine the best long-term course of treatment” I’m sorry, this is maybe 1 or 2 levels below the Lonzo Ball diagnosis in terms of hopelessness.

  7. This is exactly what he had 3 years ago that he finally got surgery on last year! I wonder if it’s the same vertebrae, or something new.

Sigh man we never should’ve done the Harden trade

I’ve had a collapsed lung, sprained knee, had my kidney out, blood clots, all sorts of shit. Shoulder impingement was far and away the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life

Damn I feel horrible for him. I’m a tallish guy and have the same issue. It’s very hard to rehab, very painful, and takes forever. It’s ruined my life if I’m being honest. One nerve getting impinged also affects all your other nerves. And the nerve pain is brutal.

I wish him the best and I hate that he became such a punching bag. A lot of people don’t take into account the fact he could be seriously depressed. Good luck Ben

I had a back injury in High School and can tell you it’s no joke and the reason I’ve been defending Ben in this situation

Is some of his problems mental? More than likely

Does he not want to play basketball? I don’t know

But I remember not being able to go back to my proper form in either basketball or futbol at least 14 months after the injury so I can’t imagine what that’s like for a NBA player

So, is there a way to salvage this? Can we end his contract without having to buy him out? Or are we stuck paying the biggest contract of our team to a bench for 2 more years?

Why didn’t the Nets find this when they traded for him?

Why was he playing with such pain while KD and Kyrie were carrying him? And he was playing back to back games, almost a full games at times.

Why all of a sudden the pain pops up once KD gets injured?

    Somethings not adding up.

And I think it’s purely mental. To me He’s bullshitting. He has all the resources to work on himself and he hasn’t improved. It’s purely mental. I knew he was a joke from before we traded for him. Get this guy off the damn team. I don’t want to give him another chance.

Trade him to korea or even australia, enough is enough!

Best course of treatment: get the fuck out of Brooklyn!

  16. I read that as “impregnation” in his back and I refuse to accept that it’s anything else now

  17. downer9000

i have the same injury, same surgery, and same lingering nerve compression issues. It sucks.

Sympathy for him and also… condolences for nets fans.

Nerve impingements really suck. Had one in my shoulder and you would just get a numbing pain shooting up and down your arm for no reason. Couldn’t even sleep on that side of my body for over a month.
