Always loved Buck (and Phil). They really made the 25-win seasons bearable and would have me watching a Wiz-Clippers (pre Blake Griffin) game in March. I’ll forever remember Buck for how hard he tried to hide his consistent disappointment in the team during telecasts, his strange stat/counting obsession with 3pt shots made and his mid-conversation use of the word “apoplectic.”

The Wiz have been mediocre for my entire life, at least we had awesome announcers for most of it. This shit show would be much more tolerable with Buck and Phil on the mic
Edit: also didn’t help they replaced them with absolute trash announcers

Did you listen to the On the Road Podcast with Buck and Phil? Some of it hasn’t aged great because of all the Covid talk but their interviews are pretty informative and the guests are really interesting.

I watched the end of game 6 from 2017 a few days ago and it was just the best. The coach along with Steve commentating, Brad and Wall looking awesome. Amazing jerseys. It was nice to see Morris and Otto. Rookie Jaylen Brown. Such a great moment
