They want them in the play in so bad. I was just listening to a ringer podcast from earlier in the week and at that point they brought up that the play in would be involving Minnesota, OKC and Utah so of course they want the Lakers in Lmao

wow i’m not one to talk about reffing and all that but that is crazy if true. like if the lakers were #1 not too far from the kings then i might be a little reluctant to call it cheating. but that gap is insane

It’s concerning. I’m all about objectivity, as they have Bron and AD doing damage in the paint, but Bron’s been out for a good portion and they are taking more 3s than before.

This was posted on the NBA and Lakers Reddit too.
Needless to say, Lakers fans were mostly in full gaslight mode claiming there’s nothing to see here.
Talking about things like drives to the basket, points in the paint, and lack of threes. which might mean something if not for the fact the Pelicans largely mirror them and are near the bottom, and most of the Lakers benefits all came after Lebron whined and the refs responded and then got even more lopsided after the trade deadline.
combine that with the study last year showing the Lakers are basically numero uno when it comes to getting the best refs, which means their franchise has the best rapport with the crews likely to be officiating big games, so another advantage that doesn’t show up in the boxscore but most fans experience when playing them

Perhaps teams should stop fouling Lakers players on drives to the basket. Tough to defend LeBron and AD without fouling. That is what they do. (fix spelling)

Lakers were another +15 tonight. Sheesh

It’s steady accepted the refs call the games differently for superstars. Blows my mind that fans give basketball any credibility. Scott Foster is openly biased against certain players & it’s just accepted.
That being say is that stat accurate. A pic of a tweet doesn’t scream believable

How is a differential cheating? Free throws are more a function of style of play, jump shooting teams don’t draw many fouls, teams that emphasize points in the paint do.
Sacs best 2 players live in the paint

I don’t have a dog in this fight and no idea why this popped up in my feed but the NBA has been riding Zions dick for a couple of years. If dude could lose some weight and stay healthy I’m sure he’d get James Harden level love from the refs.
Stars have always got preferential treatment. You breathe on Embiid, Harden, Luka, lillard or Lebron and you get a foul. You all aren’t victims as much as your one true interesting player is fat AF and can’t get his knees right.
