I think the craziest thing about the hate he got and people writing him off was the fact that he’s such a skilled player. I get people weren’t fans of his shot selection at times but his game at a whole is so solid and he has the ability to make shots. He’s had so many 30, 40, 50 point games he has the ability to score it was always more so about knowing when to attack when to shoot etc. And as far as his defense goes Fedor wrote an article earlier in the year on how Caris was a defensive prospect at first and thats how he got minutes in Brooklyn so he always had that identity in him but he’s regained it with us (s/o to JB)

I think a lot of the hate was frustration because we knew this was the kind of player he can be. He has so much skill and talent. I think the difference was when he came off the bench he started looking to facilitate like a point guard, which in turn seemed to help his shots fall. I’m thrilled to see him put it all together.
