it’s still there , he has to cover for our guards who can’t guard shit, we have a cooked gabe vincent, old lowry, and now old kevin love with herro and the only one semi consistent on offense is Herro this is a stupid meme

Bams fatigued plus definitely coasting til playoffs at this point. Ain’t no way he becomes Ben Simmons defensively outside of those two reasons. Doesn’t help that he gets over switched.

My theory is he realized he wasn’t getting dpoy so hes taking it easy to avoid injury. Hoefully he can turn it back up for the playoffs.

The heats defense has gotten bad because certain lineups and certain schemes they employ with those lineups are bad. They have also been playing a lot of drop and been getting killed from the corners and at the top of the paint. They stopped playing as much zone. Turnovers are up (hurts your defense) and all of the secondary pieces on defense outside of jimmy and bam have been worse.

Love is a part of the problem. He’s not the whole problem, but still been awful. They’ve had to change lineups and schemes because of him so he definitely is a problem and has thrown their defensive cohesion off. Leading to a lot of mistakes and mental lapses

Relegating the whole defense being bad by saying bam has been “a lot worse, not trying and constantly getting beat” is a nasty myth being pushed by that one guy not sure why

Bam is the last line of defense too often because of poor containment, when they contain it well enough he can get blocks or contest the shot well, but the way we’ve had him in deep drop they’re basically at the rim with little resistance and he doesn’t get enough time to contest. He’s had his occasional bad defensive possession and (imo had gotten cooked from 3) but he’s still Him. Everyone else needs to be better on ball defenders. We’ve played way less zone in the second half of the season

  6. You guys don’t realize we’re missing Cody Zeller and we are playing every night against a professional NBA team who watches film and scouts mismatches to avoid trying to face bam or make his job impossible? Kevin Love is a very likable addition to the team and does make contributions but to not acknowledge that he is a defensive liability is pure basketball ignorance

He took a little step back but going from DPOY caliber to basically all defense level. That’s still great. It’s not like he just fell off a cliff.

The main part why I believed he should’ve been leading the DPOY convo was because we were a top 5 defense largely due to Bam because Jimbo was coasting. Everyone else is either bad or inconsistent. Look at all the other DPOY candidates. They have some sort of help to alleviate their burden. Brook Lopez, Giannis, Jrue all have each other, JJJ has Dillon Brooks (however annoying his antics may be) at the POA with Steven Adams handling the paint with him, Mobley has Allen, etc.

Asking Bam alone to consistently hide all these negative defenders flaws is too much for 1 guy.

Yal feel like his offense took a hit too?

I’m seeing a lot of sub 20-pt games lately. 🤔

I swear Bam gets coddled by this fanbase more than I’ve ever seen out of a player.
