People keep harping on about “No star will ever join the Nets again” while one of the greatest players of all time says the organization always did right by him

  2. tragedy_of_97

Maybe he will comeback for his last season farewell tour

  3. I think this is a lot of PR from KD. He knows people criticize him from moving from team to team, and he sees how people talk about Kyrie… so he’s saving face.

He wanted the HELL out of Brooklyn. So he can talk nice, but not only did he leave us high and dry, he and Kyrie have probably tainted this team in the eyes of other stars.

If I’m another big star I’d look at this organization and say, they had 2 of the best players in history and another player who’s still one of the best in the league and ‘Butt Fumbled’ the whole thing. Why would I waste my time there?

  4. SuperPotatoMan1

Nah, this ain’t making up for using us as the Brooklyn rehab center for 3 years then dipping

  5. DreadSteed

Let’s be honest, the issue wasn’t the organization, the issue was Kyrie Irving.

He drove out Harden, he bailed on Durant, and he poisoned the well in the media for all of his stans.

And really, besides giving up some assets for Harden, the Nets collected a lot of assets through trading KD and Kyrie. Didn’t work out with him there but the departures left them in pretty good shape.

  7. Doc-Spock

Kiss my ass, man. The fact of the matter is that KD asked to be traded…twice. And even before that, ditching OKC for the Warriors.

Personally, I don’t have a problem if he wants to join the best teams and chase rings, but don’t talk about things like ‘family’ or the ‘hardest road’. He is a 34 year old man and shouldn’t be so full of shit.

“i’M jUsT hApPy hE gOt oUt Of ThErE” 😜

  9. TWAndrewz

That’s as sympathetic as KD has ever sounded.

He is the least to blame for the collapse of the big 3, by far.

Harden started it by being the first to ask out, and kyrie continually put the team in tough spots with his views/mouth.

KD just wanted to ball with his bros and win championships. The other 2 made it real difficult for him.

I don’t really get the KD hate. Love that dude. The best and most entertaining player I’ve seen wear a Nets uniform. Man wants to compete for a ring and when Kyrie demanded a trade, it wasn’t gonna happen. I don’t blame him for wanting to be on a competitive roster.

I know you guys prob don’t want to hear this but at the end of the day, if the Nets wanted those guys(besides Harden) on the team they’d still be there.

My issue is with players who sign massive contracts, with more money than we can even imagine making, and then leave without fulfilling them. What’s the purpose of a contract if not to ensure that the players hold up their side?

Love kd til the death, he was the only constant of that “super team” and was a pros pro. Even the way he asked out of the nets in private gave us leverage for a good deal instead of demanding trades like Kyrie and harden
