Think we’ll see better merch and shoes now?

This is really great for Steph. I’m happy man is extending his empire and a dude of his status deserves equity far more than just a paycheck, so that’s fire.

But man. As a customer, I want nothing to do with UA. I don’t like their CEO, I don’t like their logo, their brand feels so aligned to a chad-like type of person that I am not a fan of. I’m a pretty avid golfer and even with Steph introducing new styles for their golf apparel, I’ve got no interest. It’s not even like their stuff is overpriced either, I just find their gear to be so dull.

Where’s the vision been the last 5 years lol

  4. ImperialTiger3

They should learn how to market him better.

  5. Substantial-Memory85

I’ll forgive under armour for the crime of not marketing Steph especially after the finals like Nike would market their stars if they won, Curry deserves this bag and more!

  6. ItsintheGab

    “substantial equity”

Joe Lacob and co. take notes pls

In comparison between ultra wealthy people, Curry is one of the few people that I would legitimately trust to do good with this kind of money. So I’m glad he’s getting his piece of the pie (relative to other billionaires).

  8. Ball_ChinnedKid

Now Curry will get even less free throws.

  9. tmoeagles96

If only under armour knew how to design decent looking shoes.

  10. ManufacturerJumpy748

Will Steph have control on when to release some of his stuff? Cuz I can never find his merch anywhere.

  11. PM_ME_WH4TEVER

Good. I’m glad not all Athletes are chained to that cheap shit Nike… their product is garbage.

  12. KanyeWestBrick

Boomer MAGA brand with terrible designs

  13. rawdfarva

One reason Steph gets no calls from the NBA is because he’s not sponsored by Nike

  14. Working_Friend_6946

If Steph was backed by Nike he would be in the goat conversation. No joke. I work for a pretty big marketing firm and the amount of subtle and constant push certain people get from Massive corporations is insane.

  15. Supra_Dupra

The biggest fumble of all time was Nike not getting this dude. Really wish I could get excited about Curry brand stuff but under armor fucking sucks.

  16. Accomplished-Dot8429

My only opinion of Under Armour is that I grew up poor and thought they were some kind of high quality, luxury brand like Lululemon. Something my parents could never afford to buy for me as a kid.

A few months ago, I bought some of their Cold Gear stuff for the winter thinking it would be perfect and I can say without a doubt that it absolutely sucks at it’s one job of keeping you warm.

  17. SanFranSicko23

Echoing most of the sentiment in here, Steph is the guy and i’m glad he of all people is getting this. But dude I really don’t like UA. Even the name sucks and just makes me think of underwear.

  18. MajorNewb21

Kinda wish he would leave UA. Tired of seeing them market to deplorables just so they can be opposite of Nike’s “liberal” stance.

  19. ayyicanshitpostoo

I don’t have cable are there any UA commercials about Steph lately? The only one I remember was the commercial after the 73-9 season and they don’t even have that on their YouTube channel anymore.

  20. dnesdnal17

    Get that bag, king.

Here’s to a lifetime of poor marketing and whelming merch celebrating a generational talent.

  21. BadAtNameslmao

Sad to see a player like curry represent a mediocre brand in UA. No one I know buys their stuff

  22. LaBodaDelHuitlacoche

I can’t believe how bad they fumbled the night night stuff too making it only limited at Shoe Palace lol but good for him

Under Amour desperately need to figure out that if they want to compete, they cannot just be an athletics brand. They have to be a lifestyle brand. Nike and adidas aren’t as huge as they are because they sell the best compression Ts and most technical basketball shoes. They’re as big as they are because they market their players, not their products. In doing, they don’t care if people buy the same shit their players use/wear. They just want people to buy “Nike”.

Now every other person on the street is wearing Nike shoes, and the ones that aren’t are wearing adidas/Yeezy. Under armour seemingly can’t figure out that they need to market shit not just to athletes, but to regular ass people. In the last few years, New balance have figured it out, and now you can see ASICS and Saucony pivoting away from traditional running-focused markets into sneakers. Under Armour are gonna have to do the same if they want their investment in curry to pay off. Sure, release the curry bball shoes. But also Release some shoes that are designed by a sneaker designer, rather than by a sports podiatrist.

Side note under armour’s logo is dogshit and they’d do well to make it as minimal as possible on everything the release.

Too bad NIKE shit the bed. Would have been a great marriage.

UA is the ugly chick, bad breath, wears a wig and pajamas all day. Just got a fat bank account.

  25. fingerscrossed0160

Since we already know Steph looks at everything on Twitter, I hope he also spends some time on Reddit and comes across this thread 😂

Maybe then we’ll see some improvements at UA?

  26. Dc_awyeah

Hopefully being president means he steals someone from Nike with a clue to run his marketing dept and product development.

  27. Duckysawus

If they just made a shirt with a silhouette of Curry doing night night on the front OR the back, that shit would sell.

Their marketing team also need to get some smart folks who love him to get shit rolling.

  28. Maybe he can get them to make gear available timely and widely available unlike the “night, night” tshirt which was only sold by fuckin Shoe Palace

  29. TemporaryAcc716

Fuck Under Armour. I wish he shifted to Nike 😔
