We only played those 6 guys because we had to match bottom feeders like Portland/Detroit/Orlando, who were also sitting players. And even that wasn’t enough.

Detroits best season in the past 14 years is a 44 win season. OKC’s worst season in that same time span was 44 wins (plagues of egypt) pre the last two year rebuild.
Outside of the very first year the Thunder existed the Pistons have never won more games in a season than the Thunder, not a single time. Even this team with the starting line up they are laughing about still won more games than the Pistons that season.
However they’ve finally righted the ship over there and it’s because Troy Weaver joined them and has made great decisions. Troy Weaver was Sam Presti’s assistant GM this past decade in OKC.
They’re now making very similar moves to us in actually bottoming out properly these last few seasons, selecting high level talent and building patiently for the future collecting assets and developing young talent instead of floating around in the middle to bottom of the league going nowhere with failed win now moves on middling rosters.
The Pistons fan base doesn’t seem to have the self awareness to realise the exact thing they are making fun of us for doing is precisely the plan Troy Weaver is executing for them and is the sole reason they’ll finally get out of the NBA basement over the next few years.
It’s the age old “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones” scenario.
