[Nehm] Asked Giannis Antetokounmpo about his level of concern if the Bucks see the Celtics again in the postseason. “We know what the deal is. It’s not hard to understand. If you’re not focused, if you don’t play hard, they’re going to kick our ass.”

I keep seeing this from the post game stuff about “we weren’t focused”

Well why not??? Because it’s not the playoffs?
The Celtics clearly don’t care about not being in the playoffs to be focused enough to kick our asses.

They just got beat because they didn’t adjust. The Celtics do a good job of packing paint on giannis and have athletic enough wings that they can get back to the shooters on kick outs. They did have some open looks and just missed constantly but the Celtics can make shots quickly and if you get in a 3s battle with them you better be making yours because it will snowball quickly. Second half they finally tried more movement instead of keeping all the shooters at the 3 line they were crossing them more and keeping the movement to make Celtics move a little more. That was working a bit more but it was too late. Once down 30 it’s usually over.

Settling for Giannis taking 3s and midrange jumpers when we’re down by 20 is a serious problem. I have no issue with him doing that if we’re up or its close… but we have to have an actual offense in the playoffs not just Giannis hero ball. I’ve noticed this year that in big nationally televised games he tries to do too much… almost like he wants to show out when people are watching. That’s great, but our offense looks so much better when he’s distributing and being unselfish. That said, no one could hit a shot in the second half.

Back to back exhaustion is a factor. I mean when I go all in exercising, I can feel it very hard the next day. I doubt it’s any different even for elite athletes. Recovery requires more than one day.
