  1. As a piston fan back then. I felt like we were made by the Celtics , Lakers, and bulls. All 4 of those teams made basketball take off.

Also the hawks, Knickerbockers, phoneix and Trailblazers were all also out rivals. It would be heated when ever it were those teams.

Btw Isiah humiliated me by not shaking Jordans hand. I always preached good sportsmanship.

Isiah and Dummars got hurt , lambeera back was done, it wasn't happening and game one against the bulls for our 3 peat, I knew it was over.

  2. Isaiah tooting his own horn as usual. Sorry Zeke, but the league really took off and went worldwide because of MJ, and he knows it. Stop the cap!

  3. Isn't ironic the NBA had it in for the pistons and the Knicks because of their style of play and both teams had 3 iconic rivalries pistons Celtics pistons Lakers pistons bulls , Knicks heat Knicks pacers Knicks bulls . Regardless of who wins titles and who doesn't rivalries is what fuels sports . Its what makes sports worth watching. If they had like a wwe style of titles that would make for interesting basketball . Like a hardcore championship and only teams that are hard nose competitors and not hopping from team to team would play. Especially if the league don't value regular season games hell make it a pay per view every month have a 7 game series for the best talented team and make a undercard hard core championship . I know it may sound silly but it may work .

  4. I was at the record crowd game in the Silverdome, over 66k, and took down the Celtics🏀🏆

  5. Zeke be knowing. But don't diminish the impact and importance of the showtime Lakers. Jerry Buss was the impetus when he paid Magic $1M a year for Magics fastbreak style offense, and cheerleaders. In the 80's the showtime Lakers went to the NBA finals 8 times, and won it 5 times. Celtics won it 3 times, and the Pistons 2. The Pistons were tough, literally and physically. But the showtime Lakers were MFERS.

  6. ZEKE is absolutely right Magic and Bird did save the league but the Pistons brought the crowds and all of the hoopla of the bad boys which propel the bulls and everybody else up under them because everybody tried to copy after that until the league stopped it because of Jordan Cissy self!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

  7. Haha zeke is so delusional. People watch bad boys because it’s a fight not basketball.

  8. Yes, yes, yes. There was nothing like it. Uo until that point the way everything was, the way everything was makreted was the Celtics represented the White Suburb Upperclass Whites with a little bit of working class because of Larry. The Lakers were primarily marketed as the team for the West Coast Black people who were stylish and all of the Hollywood people. The Sixers were all Dr J. Mostly marketed as the team of the Black Inner-city. Then, there were the Knicks and the Bernard King following. Marketed as New York but also marketed as the team of the players on the playgrounds stuff like that. This is how it was. It was how it was sold to me as a kid and it's how I perceived it. There were only the Sixers, Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, and maybe Houston.

But then……… The bad boys showed up. They were different. Thomas and Dumars ran the show. LAIMBEER in ATTITUDE and because he was the only White dude on the floor with black players become actually more popular than Larry. The Pistons represented the attitudes of the poor working class they worked so hard. If there was a loose ball on the gloo thy go its. The Pontiac Siverdome would have thousand od ßeatatd
    .

  9. Fuck outta here!!!! That Celtics and Lakers rivalry made the league take off. Jordan was a bigger draw than the Bad boys by his damn self. He sold out every stadium not just his own or his rivals.

  10. I grew up rooting for the bad boys.
But question was about Magic and Bird saving the league.
Every clip I see of Isaiah is him giving him/Piston clout while stepping on everyone else.
    Sounds a little bitter

  11. Clowns will not admit- Isaiah and Bad Boys were like a cannonball on the court. They changed everything.
