Congrats Carlik, well earned. I hope he gets more minutes in the NBA. If not with the Bulls, then somewhere else.

To improve the back court, consider the following steps:
1. Admit Lonzo won’t return in time and file for the disabled player exception to regain half his contract cap space.
2. Use the freed-up cap space to acquire a veteran starting point guard and keep PatBev as a bench PG for now.
3. Choose either Ayo or Coby, and trade or release the other.
4. Trade Deebo while he still has value to allow him to play for a contender.
5. Trade Caruso for a better 3-point shooter.
6. Give Carlik and Terry meaningful minutes to develop.
By trading or releasing DeMar, Ayo, and Caruso and using the disabled player exception on Lonzo, you can free up enough cap space to acquire a quality starting PG and potentially get a few first-round picks. By developing Carlik and Terry, you can see what you have in them for the future.
