TJarks, an all time prospect evaluator nails it. No surprise. RIP my dude.

He says “Embiid’s ceiling is Tim Duncan”. Interesting comparison. How do you think Embiid is tracking against TD? Stylistically I think they are much different. I feel like Embiid’s ceiling is Shaq/Kobe in one body.

Man RIP Tjarks, I loved his writing.

> They aren’t trying to play point guard or shoot a bunch of 3’s – when you are bigger, faster and more coordinated than everyone you face, you don’t want make the game any more complicated than it has to be.
Man what a quote lol.

It’s hard to believe that “The Process” is about to be 10 years old
Edit: I still like to run the Simulator on Tankathon for some nostalgia from time to time

So much of that report was spot on. The part about Embiid having the skills to play in the high post, especially. Prophetic!
Still, even this report doesn’t anticipate the strides Jo would make with his jumper. He’s basically hit his 99th percentile outcome.

Interesting how much of an afterthought his offensive game is here. Embiid becoming a generational midrange shooter has to be one of the wildest developments of any player when you factor in all his other intangibles.
Also made me think how fascinating it would be to see him in the league right out of college instead of waiting two years.

As someone who is a sixers fan because of this man, it is truly incredible how far he has come since his Kansas days. You could see the passion he had and the talent just bursting at the seems but he was ***so raw***. The fact that he started playing as late as he did is something I don’t think is talked about nearly enough! Truly a one of a kind player and person. Love him to death

Many people forget that he was a rim protector in college. The strides he made watching tape of older white men shoot is amazing

Great analysis. Only critique is the bit about projecting him as a PF, after a soliloquy to NBA Cs. I do remember Jo being a beast on D in college. Projecting him to be Duncan in the league…yeah, I definitely didn’t see that. I thought more Mutombo TBH.
But that’s all to say, credit to Jo. Amazed at the work he’s put in to bulking up. Bro went from a bean pole to Shaq-lite. But the work he’s put in to his game, that’s just one of those intangible character traits that you really can’t measure or know. Bro’s out here doing MJ/Kobe turnarounds/reverse pivots…
I’d say he’s past Duncan TBH. Obviously, bro needs some rings and things. But as far as overall game, Timmay wasn’t doing what Jo is on offense.
