Greenie (RE: Miami record): As a reminder, the first win was in OT (120-116) in a game without Rob The second MIA win came on a B2B without Jaylen/Smart/Brogdon/Horford playing (98-95). Justin Jackson played 14 minutes I don’t think the Celtics are “praying” about avoiding anyone

It is funny that last year it was the Nets people were trying to avoid, now it’s the Heat, and we’re likely to face both.

I actually want to avoid the Heat more than I cared about avoiding the Nets last year though. I just know how annoying the Heat can make a series.

  2. I’ve never been a fan of Perk but he’s really gone out of his way to shit on the C’s this year for some reason. Just odd how we’s been a part of broadcasts with Scal and/or Mike and it’s constant praise for the team but completely flips when it comes to national media. I get that it’s probably just for clicks but it really irks me. Last couple weeks he’s been saying that JB is getting treated poorly and should leave Boston, and now he’s saying that the the C’s would lose to literally the worst offense in basketball that rosters like 7 undrafted players in the first round.

It’s not that I am worried we’ll lose a series against Miami, it’s that:

    a) we have been playing down to lower competition consistently all season, and the Heat are a significantly worse team than we are,

And b) we have had one singular blowout win against the Heat in the last ~15 times we’ve played them, all the rest have been tight. The series WILL go to 6 games at least and it will be a very hard fought series…something about the way the Heat play denial on our first pass on the perimeter just short circuits our offense and we’ll lose at least twice before we adjust, as is tradition.

If by some miracle the Hawks end up winning the play-in, the same can not be said about them. They match up terribly with us and it would be a huge upset for them to take even 2 from us, and they have no ability to push us around or clamp down like Miami does. THAT would be a much more preferable 1st series.
