We still have to lose…
The mavs suck at signing free agents. Is Taylor Hendricks or gradey dick or any late lottery pick moving the needle? Hell no! Can we get a good trade for the pick+our scrubs? Hell no!

It’s highly unlikely we make the play-in even if we win out, since OKC has to lose at home to a Memphis team that will likely be resting all their starters; so this seems like the best decision, even though we prob should’ve committed to this path sooner.
Do we control our own destiny as far as getting the 10th best odds? Bulls would be a game up on us if we lose tonight & OKC is already ahead of us.

Why would you even want to re-sign a cancer like Kyrie? He’s essentially proven over the past few yrs that he doesn’t help a team at all.
the bad part of all this is signaling to Luka, one of the most competitive players in the league, that the Mavs have no intention of even trying to win despite having him on their roster it may be bad long term plus who knows if Kyrie is gonna resign

They should’ve been smart and recognized this weeks ago when everyone else was saying it, now it might be too late
The team is desperately in need of assets . Packaged this and the 2027 FRP they could probably get a solid C .
IMHO i would draft Walker or Hendricks if they fall and use the 2027 + sacrifice Green or Hardy to get a C in the offseason.
