From 2013-2016 I don't think Harden's teammates were much better or worse than AI's teammates. The only reason you might say AI's were worse is because the individual players on average were worse or seem worse, but relative to their competition, there isn't a difference, because the league wasn't as deep with talent in AI's era.
So Harden took similar teammates to more success in a far harder conference with a worse coach (McHale<Larry Brown).
And if we just break it down by aspects of their game, both were mediocre defensive players and even if AI was better he didn't provide much impact on that end. On offense, I don't think anyone would disagree that Harden was better, and he's a better scorer and a much better playmaker. And playmaking is more valuable for raising up bad offensive teammates than scoring is. So idk what the argument for AI>Harden would be here.

Larry Brown constructed that roster like that on purpose, by design. To overload on Defensive slanted talented and funnel everything through Iverson.
Allen Iverson played on a defensive minded team that tried to hide Iverson's weaknesses while also doing nothing to play to his strengths.
Harden played on an offensive minded team that did a lesser job hiding his weaknesses but accentuated all of his strengths. (That's not even covering his ridiculous abuse of a broken free throw system).
The team was build like that offensively because of the way ai play. It was build around him.
When people say “AI didn’t have enough help”, his team is the only one in the history of the league to have an MVP, DPOY, 6th Man, and coach of the year that year they went to the Finals. He was the only scorer option cause that’s how they were constructed for him to win. He couldn’t play successfully with another one at that time
