I’m gonna really miss cam but this is worth it

Not a chance! You will need to send Mikal Bridges / Cam Johnson / Nick Claxton, and maybe a 1st or 2 to get it done.

Blazers wouldn’t want to take on Simmons’ contract in a trade for Dame. I think a more realistic trade package would be Dinwiddie, O’Neale, Thomas, Mills, and those same 4 picks (the Sixers one is top-8 protected). Similar to the compensation the Jazz got for Gobert: a promising young player (Kessler/Thomas), a decent starting forward (Vanderbilt/O’Neale), player(s) who can produce at guard (Dinwiddie = Beasley + Beverley), and a reserve (Bolmaro/Mills). Wolves gave up 4 firsts and a swap while Nets give up 3 unprotected firsts and 1 protected first with no swaps, but I think it‘s similar comp still because the Nets are giving up a slightly better package of players and Lillard is 2 years older + under contract for 2 years vs the 3+1 Gobert had left.

Very risky trade in my opinion. Also can’t see the blazers going for this.

Simmons contract is fairly massive as is, and I’d imagine if they go full rebuild it would be around Shaedon Sharpe and young cheap contracts.

Anyone else’s heart jump reading the first few words?

Giving up four picks and we still aren’t in the league’s top tier makes me pause but I like that in this deal we don’t sacrifice any of that valuable wing depth, which could still be dealt for another key piece.

How about we enjoy the playoffs and save this crap for the off-season?

  7. Dame’s contract isn’t good either, especially for a habitually injured 33yo gaurd. So I think this would work especially with Portlands timeline, if they decide to move on from Dame. I would throw in Dinwiddie and 1 or 2 less FRP, this is also contingent on Simmons being healthy as well. This is interesting realm of possibility, I would explore getting Murray, Beal and Lavine for similar but lesser packages.

Unpopular opinion but I’m not a fan of the trade. It’s a lot to give up for 2 years of being a 4 seed. This doesn’t help us against boston, Milwaukee or Philly imo.

Also it would cost more. Unloading Ben alone would probably cost 2 1sts at this point.
