Individual awards in team sports is just plainly stupid. Especially the regular season. These awards are created to sell players. The league banks on selling players and not teams because they are so bad at managing player rosters. There should be contextual value placed on regular season awards. There should be a different record books for each generation that explains the Era and the value of the records or awards achieved. The expectation for today's centers as far as defense and offense are really different than in the past. The better centers today only play against elite centers 10% of the games they play. They are not playing the competition night in and night out that other great centers did.
