What would you guys think of picking up a guy like Siakam in the off-season. I can’t think of a better player to pick up with a trade other than him because he would fill out our roster in a way that seems like it would complete the rebuild.

Do you think that Coach D is not playing assets that he think will shine too much. In hopes to to hide them from the likes of an expansion draft. (ie:// Poku/Dieng)
Giddey’s rookie scale extension will be negotiated next summer and he will be eligible for 4-5 years at approx 33 mil per year (25 % of the cap).
Ditto for Dub the following summer and Chet the summer after that.
If all 3 are deemed rookie scale extension max guys that would be 75% of the cap tied up in them.
SGA will be eligible for 35% of the cap when his current deal expires.
So, in total resigning those 4 would put us at 110% of the cap. We could do it, but would have zero ability to spend on any complimentary pieces.
I think Presti desires a little flexibility and therefore that’s why I’ve always thought one of our big 4 will not be a part of the future.
We can’t just offer dub 5 years, 100 mil the day the new CBA is announced. Furthermore, unless his career doesn’t take off like we all think it will, 20 mil per year won’t get it done. You’d be treating him just like we treated Harden, and we know how that turned out.
Me hoping Giddey brings some teammates down under this off season 🙏, might be to busy at world cup and hard to convince guys to come to an Aus winter, unless they will be in Philippines (shai?), man if Shai came to Aus for a holiday 🤗

Sign Giddey to a 50 year deal so he can coach after he plays. Give him 5% of the org if u have to. Dude is special special
