No shit. We’ve heard that before

  2. p1tobeone

They will be addressed…. by extending Mcgee!!

  3. -Acerin

I trust you Nico. Do some magic in the offseason.

  4. Last time he addressed it, mcgee was signed. He clearly realizes it’s an issue and I think Nico has done fine so far but he can’t strike out again on this

  5. Rhystanz

And if Kyrie leaves who’s gonna be the second ball handler ? Frank ?

  6. Talk is cheap. But I will say this Nico doesn’t seem like a guy whose unaware. He knows what needs to be done. Big summer for everyone including Luka

“The two biggest areas we need to address are ~~defense~~ Coaching[in general] and ~~rebounding~~ roster construction… That will ^(not) be addressed”

  8. Millionaire007

That pick is so gone. I what center they’re eyeing

  9. qotsabama

Can’t wait to hopefully see it. Make it happen.

Got to see results, plain and simple. These are areas we have been needing to address every offseason. I would have more trust in his words if Cuban weren’t so involved. Hoping and praying they prove our doubts wrong. 6th best offensive rating but 25th in defensive rating and dead last in rebounding. Re-sign Kyrie and get us to average rated defense and rebounding and we are a top seed. Get us to a top 10 defense like last year and we are legit contenders.

It’s so cute, people here thinking Dwight Powell won’t be starting for us next season.

  12. top_of_the_table

Yeah, we are trading that pick. Dont know, if I like that.

  13. Shado_Man

    23.1ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.7apg, 1.5bpg(T-9th), .9spg, ranked 13th in DFG% with 56.1.

We traded that for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. AND gave up draft capital to do so.

Why is anyone trusting Nico to fix a problem that he willingly made worse?

  14. Dirks_Knee

    Deja vu.

Fingers crossed they do not make the mistake of bringing Powell back, at least that is an easily fixable issue.

  15. Powpowpowowowow

Here is the thing. After this year. It’s 100% on Nico for how this roster is built. No more excuses. I believe in him but we have a small window now to actually win with Luka.

  16. GormlessK

Wonder what the fix here is if the defense and rebounding are an issue when the defensive scheme doesn’t work for the slower-footed bigmen who might be able to reliably secure rebounds. Hmm.

  17. hellomello1993

The #10 Pick + THJ for Myles Turner. Indiana says no?

  18. tealizardman

biggest concern is all the bad contracts on our books. like it’s really something. BERTANS, thj, mcgee, like fuck man. i’d be really impressed if we were able to create better value on our roster.

  19. BigSugaDaddy

I think if the franchise was 100% honest with themselves, they’d also admit the huge coaching issue too

  20. All things considered… Rudy Gobert is probably not gonna stay in Min….

  21. desispeed

Cut Dwight Powell..then we believe ur serious about change!

  22. anon641414

I mean, they say this every year and then nothing changes. I don’t think the organization fundamentally understands how to scout/develop the position/skillset

  23. LogansGambit

I say this and I mean it, sincerely: if the solution is to re-sign Powell and he’s the starter, I won’t watch a single Mavs game next season. I’m done with the shit.

  24. aeiou-y

What kind of color ways are we going to have though nico?

  25. Active_Page_3886

Lmao I swear he said this exact quote a year ago. I know I’m not crazy

  26. Fit-Schedule-5558

They dont like playing their rebounders

  27. desirox

Hopefully this time it’s not something like McGee. It also has to be multiple players not just 1
