This Atlanta situation shows why the Spurs put so much emphasis on players having good character. And why and how the FO deal with situations when players don’t live up to expectations.
Atlanta’s been in turmoil for 18 months. No sign of it ending soon either. Cause they didn’t address it when it first became a problem.
Conversely, the Josh Primo situation was six months ago, was dealt with swiftly and promptly when it came to public light, and now seems like ancient history.
They shipped away Dennis Rodman and Kawhi Leonard for less than their value for the same reason. Just to be rid of them, on their own terms.
While watching this I felt bad for like a second. I’m over that and now I’m loving it 🎉🍾😂

This whole situation is being blown out of proportion by Hawks and Spurs fans alike. The media has been after Trae ever since the Hawks traded Luka for him, and now they're using this nonsense to fuel their ongoing campaign against Trae. If any team should be sitting back laughing right now, it's the Jazz for fleecing two organizations.
Trae being traded isn't necessarily a bad thing for the Hawks. Consider two possible trades for other stars. Trae (and picks) for Dame so Atlanta can push forward and Portland resets their timeline closer to their young assets (cause trae is just 24), or Trae and players and picks for Jalen Brown, who is from Georgia and would love to play there, if Boston loses early and they can't get a lot for Jalen and demand a star in return there aren't many available other than Young. So depending on who they get in return (best case scenario for us is complete tank and they trade everything for draft assets) it might be better or worse for them. Outside of a real star that plays both ends (unlike Trae), Atlanta has a talented squad and a good coach
