I get he’s going to say that about his guys, but the 08 Celtics were a wagon. They got the best 3pt shooter in the game, a former MVP and had a franchise guy in Pierce. All were All-NBA caliber players.

Embiid is obviously the Garnett comp, but Harden and Maxey aren’t close to what Pierce and Allen were

Not to mention we had Rondo, and their 4th best player is who, Tobias Harris?

We were the best defense that year by a wide margin and won 66 games. Sixers are a solid team but they’re not even the best team in their conference and we’ve seen their depth in the non-Embiid minutes.

It’s not a good comp, the 2008 Celtics would wipe the floor with this year’s Sixers.

  2. Kevin Garnett? Paul Pierce? Ray Allen?

With all due respect Doc, absolutely fucking not.

For the sake of keeping his job in Philly, Doc better *hope* this year’s Sixers will replicate the 08 Celtics’ success or at the least, make the ECF.

Tf this clown talking about I never seen a coach profit as much from his superstars than Doc after having his sorry ass carried by KG and Pierce to a title 🤣🤣

I love this because it’s gonna be a thing that drives sixers fans crazy

08 Celtics had 4 stars, a borderline star, and great role players. Sixers have Half the stars, a borderline all star, and below average role players.

I’m excited to hear what Doc has to say when he is done coaching, but until then that man’s always got an agenda and it’s always as clear as a fucking window lol

The difference is the 2008 Celtics were good enough to overcome being coached by Glenn Rivers.

The 2023 Sixers will not overcome being coached by Glenn Rivers, even with Embiid playing out of his mind.
