The concern for the lakers is that health. If the Lakers can be healthy all series long, they will win that series. AD and Bron can average both 25 and DLo can average 18, then it will be a wrap. The expert I respect the most is Tim Legler. If he thinks Suns in 6, it's likely Suns in 6. I've seen him be wrong before but his takes are mostly sound.
Can someone from the Clippers' coaching staff post that on their whiteboard? Get the Clipper players more motivated that the whole world is counting them out. I wish Russ would play the series of his life. This might be his last chance playing in the NBA. His last chance trying to win a ring.
My Clippers will likely still lose. Use their "no Paul George" excuse card since this franchise is never healthy or ever lucky. From a rebound, PG gets injured. A wasted season by my Clippers while they watch the Lakers advance after we beat them 11 straight. Sure, we have Kawhi. You can never count him out. But Suns still have the better player in KD and basically 4 of the top 5 best players on the floor.
Suns in 6. This series had potential to be one of the greatest 1st round series and the best for this year if Paul George stayed healthy. But as usual, one of the Clippers stars couldn't. Then we wanted to tank that game in Phoenix but the Pelicans-TWolves game being close wouldn't let us.
We had no choice but to win it. We were in the play-in last year and lost both games. Lakers could've upset us. Then we have a losing record to Minnesota, OKC, and New Orleans this year. Can't wait for Bobby Marks' Clippers off-season guide in about 2 weeks. Clippers really needs to do some major changes.

It's all chalky picks. Warriors and Grizzlies are favored. I would look at previous 1st round results and there are usually 1 or 2 that upsets a higher seed. That usually happens with a 5th seed beating 4th seed. Like Hawks beating Knicks in 2021. The top 3 seeds usually advance.
Upset alert are probably happening with Knicks over Cavaliers, Clippers over Suns, and Kings over Warriors. I think at least 1 of those upsets might happen. Look at the play-in. Two 10th seeds defeated the 9th seeds. The 8th seed Hawks defeated the 7th seed Heat. When we think we know, we don't know.
It's not always chalky. An upset is going to occur. Just not sure which one and which round? Look at the 4th seed Mavs upsetting the 1st seed Suns last year. I thought it was a given for Phoenix to win and they lost me a chance to win $200. If Lakers beat the Grizz, I don't consider that an upset. Look at all the experts picking the Lakers. That's a pick 'em in Vegas.
Anybody can be confident with their picks until the games are finally happening. I would study the Kentucky Derby for months thinking I got it. Then after the 2 minutes is up with the Derby, I'll look like the biggest idiot. It happens. You can't win 'em all. BTW, my 2023 KY Derby picks…

Nowadays, I'll go by names. Does it sound like a Derby winner? Forte, Verifying, Reincarnate, and Disarm sound like it. A name like Tapit Trice or even Angel of Empire does not sound like one.
Not so high on Practical Move but I'll include him. I got burned by Messier and Taiba big time last year and I'm not feeling it with another Baffert/Yakteen horse this year who could barely beat a 2nd tier Japanese horse in the Santa Anita Derby. I'll only include him because most of these Derby runners look awful. Weak crop.
I was going for Kingsbarns because he's undefeated and has early speed but he beat a weak Louisiana Derby field in a very slow time. And Todd Pletcher has a dubious record in the Derby. No way he goes 1-2-3 with Forte, Tapit Trice, and Kingsbarns. At least 2 of those will be off the board. Pletcher is no Baffert.
I really did like CONFIDENCE GAME but he hasn't run since Feb. Toss. Instant Coffee ☕ is pointed to the Preakness. I think Disarm wins the Lexington tomorrow or at least finishes top 3 to punch his ticket to the Derby. He might fall to under 20-1 in 3 weeks. I don't think he'll win the Derby but I will play him today at 50-1 just in case he wins tomorrow.
Verifying is my Derby horse. I saw his odds go from 14-1 to 12-1 after a day. They're taking notice. A game 2nd to Tapit Trice. Has early speed like his daddy. The last time I won money from the Derby was when Justify won it. The name sounds right. Justify in 2018. Authentic in 2020. Verifying in 2023? Sometimes it's all in the name. RICH STRIKE!!
I'll be parlaying those horses I listed next to my 2nd round NBA playoff series bets. Can push a lot of the odds to higher than 100-1. Can win thousands of dollars if let's say a horse like a 12-1 Verifying wins it even if your NBA picks in the 2nd round and your Finals pick are all chalky.
