I’d really love for Anfernee Simons to be the Raptors starting point guard next year. 46/41/94 splits.

I see a lot of us salivating over the idea of bringing Shaedon Sharpe home but I don’t think Portland would throw Simons, Sharpe & their lottery pick all into a deal for Pascal. If we can’t get Sharpe, I still think we should pursue the trade for Simons. Assuming FVV is gone, I’m ready to build around Barnes, Simons & OG

I don’t think they will consider moving Sharpe in any deal with us

also one of the worst defenders in the league though. only makes sense if FVV leaves and even then I’m not sure if the FO is interested in him

I wanted this guy big time at the deadline. I think he is exactly what the team needs and his age fits perfectly with Scottie/OG. While I would love Sharpe too, I highly doubt Portland trades him. He’s constantly been mentioned as untouchable and I don’t think Pascal is the level of player that would entice them to trade him. Still, Simons, a Portland lottery pick and some other goodies could be really good for us. Personally I don’t see the Raptors FO trading Siakam unless its for a serious overpay.

  4. Y’all absolutely should want him

The dude is a guaranteed all star with y’all. He’s genuinely amazing when he gets to be the lead guard

More importantly, he isn’t even close to his ceiling. This is a dude that’s primarily a shooter at this point… Despite being a literal dunk contest winning athlete.

Just sucks he and Dame are a bad fit

I don’t think Sharpe would be included, but Pascal for Simons and a top 7 pick is really interesting. It would soften the blow of probably not having a pick next year, as we’d have Barnes, 2 picks from this year, Precious and Koloko going into the season on rookie deals. That’s plenty of talent to develop, and it would still make sense to keep Jakob, Fred, and OG. We’d be a little worse, but there would be a lot of room for growth.

Him and two firsts would do it tbh. He’d fit really well with Scottie.

  7. Blazers fans are always talking about how much they want to trade him. I’m good

I like Simons as well and would not mind him on the squad at all *shrugs

If it happens Id give everyone on here ~20 games before complaining about his defense

Can raps flip Simons to a 3rd team? He has value but not a player that I want to build around.

Isnt he a score-first shooting guard? Wouldnt our offense look uglier without a playmaker/floor general if FVV leaves without a proper replacement?

Yeah, I could see it, and Siakam as a two-way 4 has to be tempting for the Blazers/specifically Dame.

  13. If the Blazers wanted to import a couple of Raptors like Pascal and OG to make a real run with Dame I could see them being a team with the assets to get it done.

    Who says no:

    Blazers get: Siakam and Anunoby

Raptors get: Simons, Sharpe, 2023 1st rd pick, 24 1st rd pick (if they make the deal after the draft this year), ‘25/27swap, ‘26 pick, ‘28 pick and Nurkic.

You’re not getting both Sharpe and Simons for Pascal.

we need depth and playmakers, not FVV clones
