There’s a reason why teams aren’t afraid to tank. Other teams in this situation at the bare minimum are already really bad and have barely any talent, but the Mavs have a top 5 player and a top 15ish player and sat them when a play-in spot was still reachable. This does nothing.

I always laugh at these fines because it literally is just the NBA “scolding” a team. Slap on the wrist basically. This could have been a good way for the NBA to kill this behavior for future purposes but if this is the penalty teams will take that small fine any day in hopes to improve their lotto chances.
