You Won’t BELIEVE What the Hawks Just Did

Less than 2 years ago, the Atlanta Hawks were 2 games away from the NBA finals (despite a mid season coaching change and one of the worst defenses in the league)… now granted, we all kind of knew that they weren’t REALLY a conference finals level team (and moreso took advantage of a dysfunctional Sixers team in the 2nd round), but it was still an impressive accomplishment for such a young roster. And unlike some of the recent fraudulent conference finals teams we have seen – like the 2022 Mavs or the 2019 Trailblazers – the Hawks had a TON of room to grow – including of course superstar guard Trae Young. Fast forward to now – a few coaches, 2 very average seasons, and a some major roster shakeups later… and the Hawks are basically an irrelevant postseason team once again.

What is VERY relevant however, is the trade rumors swirling around Young himself. In the past, we have seen the typical ‘I am a star and I am mad about how bad my team is’ rumors with Young – even earlier than we have seen with most other stars… but what is different about this situation is it looks like the team itself wants to move on from Young as well.

  1. Tucker, long time supporter here. Proud to see how your channel has grown just like how you have as a person.

What’s your strategy with the second channel ?

  2. get Austin Reaves out of this conversation right tf now
and Lakers prefer Dlo anyway, better balanced

  3. 1:54 talking about his lack of defense while showing highlights of him with the ball because there's probably no footage of him playing defense.

  4. One thing you forgot to mention was that John Collins also wants out of Atlanta, so it’ll be interesting to see if he gets moved too or if he stops wanting out if Trae leaves.

  5. Where you hearing this? , I goto Hawks games all the time, not hearing trade talk from Hawks. Body language from other players and Trae looks good. A trade would be a net loss. trade collins, get some defenders and get Pat Bev. run it back. too early to deal Trae.

  6. Brooklyn actually makes a ton of Sense, they have a very deep roster, like 12 playable guys so they can move 3-4 of them in a package along with some of the picks they got from Phoenix or Dallas in exchange for Trae. Also the roster structure would work really well for example if you had Trae/Mikal/DFS/CJ/Claxton that's a lot of defense to cover for Trae and they need a creator to open up shots for the rest of the guys who aren't too good at shot creation

  7. I think what you missed is that building an ideal chip team where Trae Young gets to do his solo dolo offense is very difficult. I don't like to make the Steph Curry comparison because not only does he play very good off-ball defense but he's a tremendous off-ball asset on offense as well. Whereas Trae's problem is him playing off ball is standing in one spot of the half court. Then when he gets the ball he's not the quickest guy in reading how to break down the defense by aggressively driving to the hoop or drawing defenders to kick the ball out. He only generates offense with the ball for himself playing screen games and rim running with a big. Also in terms of team defense if he can't find ways to fight match up hunting due to his size in the playoffs, he is the textbook liability scorer. You can't hide him any 'better' because teams playoff teams will have ball handlers to try attack him. At the very least he does have trade value to be moved around but I feel every time that happens the return he gets won't be as much. And assembling a playoff threat team for him will take even more resources.

  8. Same Knicks that had the entirety of MSG chanting F Trae Young couple years ago?🤔 I’m sure he’d love being there. 😂

  9. Im sorry but there is no way the hawks are trading Trae Young. Man is 24 years old and the face of their franchise. Also there's no way you called the Dejounte trade an overpay.

  10. If they are swept by the Celtics it might look really bad… If they manage to win (or put a good fight) they might give not blow it up

  11. I would consider Orlando as a possible destination. They could package Wagner, Fultz and Cole Anthony plus their pick this year for Trae.

Thats a pretty good haul for Atlanta while also allowing Dejounte to go back to playing his natural position at PG.

For Orlando, it gives them a PG that can score to pair with Banchero. Trae's shooting would open up the lane more for Banchero to operate. Suggs would slot in at SG and provide the defensive coverage you need coz of Trae. They may be another piece away from being a real contender but the groudwork would be there and would allow them to attract some key FAs.

  12. Portland should trade Lillard for Young. Youth for Experience would be nice and maybe Murray would want to stay.

  13. I don't think the Clippers would have the assets, but pairing Young with PG and Kawhi could be really interesting. I mean there would be nobody else on the team but that could be interesting

  14. Trae young to New York would be an amazing story going from the supervillain to the superhero if he can put it together with him there

  15. A you tube guy calls teams fraudulent conference finals teams. 😂 best team always wins in 7 games. It’s not a one game tournament where you can get lucky, it’s not the NFL.

  16. I think you were skating around the possibility that Trae Young won’t have a future in the NBA due to the factors listed.
I personally would never sign someone with Traes abilities simply due to the long term instability

  17. He's just not talented enough offensively to be able to be the sole hub of an offense while being so poor defensively and carrying himself the way he does. Hell Luka is a better player, who's bigger more versatile version of Trae and he clearly has a limit to teams built that way around him too.

Short of a gamble like 1 for 1 trade out there where both teams take a risk I'm not sure any team who's smart would be willing to give up multiple good roleplayers or nice young players for Trae. He just doesn't move the needle THAT much.
Trae really needs to lose a lot more before maybe he understands the hard work and sacrifices that are necessary to win.

  18. Sorry, guys that make zero effort on defense because "that's not my job", will always be terrible players, cancers in locker room, and never win anything.
