Fair and Balanced Trade w/o Losing Sharpe or Sacrificing Future

In this scenario Chicago starts a full rebuild, with Ant (who’s on a team friendly contract) as the new building block moving forward around PWill and Coby White. They also secure another draft pick this year and next year. The Celtics lose JB but receive LaVine and a top 5 lottery pick in return. The picks could be rearranged, as Chicago might want our lottery pick but this works because they are who we are currently entangled with.

While JB is a one year rental, we hopefully can resign him. We keep Sharpe, and potentially don’t lose any future draft picks going forward.

It’s a gamble, but some good thinking in here. Basically Ant, Nas, NYK pick, lotto pick for Jaylen rental.

In what world does Boston take Lavine and a first for brown

I’m not sure we can achieve what Dame wants without “sacrificing” the future

I dont see Boston doing this at all, wild to see Bulls get more compensation for a worse player…

Either Jaylen would have to ask out in a very public manner, or Boston would want significantly more picks. Also are we sure Boston wouldn’t just rather have Ant instead of Lavine considering their contracts, age and health differences? I feel like a 2 team deal between Boston and Portland would be simpler/more likely.

Edit: I didn’t see that Boston was giving Chicago a FRP in this at first either lol

OOOOOH, I really like a 3 way trade with the Bulls and Celtics, seems like a more realistic avenue to get Jaylen Brown.

I didn’t know Lavine made that much. He’s talented but his injury history plus that bloated contract makes Brad Stevens laugh as he hangs up.

Personally I don’t the brown is the right fit with Dame. If nothing else is available then do it because we need talent more than anything but the preference should be a forward or center over upgrading a guard.

Solid idea, quite realistic. If Celtics think they won’t be able to keep JB, this would be a nice return

  11. likpoper

Jaylen brown is like levels above Lavine

I think we’d be dishing out multiple firsts for something like this to happen

This trade makes no sense for anyone but the blazers

Your guys’ best hope is the clippers blowing it up and trading for PG ( I have doubts that kawhi would re-sign if you traded for him).

I really don’t think an overpay for pascal makes you any better than a first round exit team

There’s no chance Boston does this.

Not terrible as Lavine and Jaylen Browns’ stats are almost identical. I’d bet if they were to switch teams (Bulls to Celts) that Lavine would do equally as well. Lavine has shown some solid progress year to year he’s just not on a team that’s maximizing his value. Solid idea on the trade, I just think Blazers fans knee jerk reaction is going to be emotional no matter what you say…This could definitely be a sell though in the front office if you use pure logic and draft potential from pro type players. It probably would require a bit of an adjustment, but it’s much less than the drama queens on here would like you to think.
