Rui going to his spots always feels automatic. Great find by Rob and co!

    Give Hachimura the bag.

Give Handy the bag while you’re at it. Indispensable assistant coach.

Phil Handy has been amazing in the development of a lot of our players. Hope to see them both Lakers for a long time.

  4. brandoi

And we really gave this guy a fucking DNP.

  5. MrAppleSpoink

He’s been a monster on defence and a bucket on offence, genuinely couldn’t ask for a better supporting piece

  6. mypeaksandmyfreaks

a full off season with handy, he might become the goat

  7. DrKorok

Handy works magic. Ja needs Handy in his life

I couldn’t remember the last time this guy played like ass even on limited minutes and touches. He’s like a positive player every game.

He’s a solid fit. He doesn’t stagnate the offense, very efficient, bails out the offense a lot of times, reliable defender, great rebounder, knows his role well, knows how to play off ball.

No flashy dribbling and other stuff. Give him the ball, he pump fakes, takes two-three dribbles and create a shot.

when we got him, Wizards fans were slandering this dudes name as if he couldn’t play, then I remembered Wizards fans don’t know basketball

Those 3s were absolutely on fire, but his midrange was still on it when we needed it. So glad to see him turn out the way he’s been since joining.

First film we saw of Handy working with Rui shortly after he got here and we see him use that same shot he was working on in games. We saw him use that shot today, and force a timeout with it.

Rui is a great kid with really great potential. Really like his calm and cool demeanor out there, and his game speaks louder than words.

  12. If you watch the team during timeouts, Handy spends a lot of his time with Rui. I think Handy knows Rui’s midrange is automatic and should put it into existence like how he did today.

One thing about Rui is- you can see from his shots, they were all shots he trained to take in training. Prosp to Handy for making Rui’s life easier too.

Keep him and Reaves, no excuses. These two guys are worth it.

  15. micro_dosed

The fans believe in you as well Rui! Love the team dynamic! Refreshing for the Laker faithful to have this together if a team.

It’s so crazy that Lonnie was close to our 3rd or 4th best player to start most of the season and now he’s not even in rotation. The depth of this team is so much better now

  17. SuperSm

He deserves everything he got coming to him

  18. enzblade

Vando + Rui and a summer with Handy? look out league. Let’s get Max in there too for next year!

  19. Important-Front429

Ham needs to take out Troy Brown Jr and put in Lonnie or give more mins to Rui. Brown can get hot but will not be a rotation player on any other contender.

Didn’t Handy work with Kawhi? He knows when he see’s lethal mid-range potential

  21. ResponseInitial

What are we thinking for him? 4 years 80?

  22. incredibleamadeuscho

He looks like a different player with a different mindset, compared to how he started.

  23. Quiet_Buffalo

Both Kawhi and Kawhi light (aka Rui) delivering wins today. Hopefully he can live up to the legacy better than D Miles (aka KG light) did.

  24. RemyGee

Remember when Rui got a DNP (or was it just barely any minutes) for no reason? Didn’t whine or act up, just worked hard to be ready. Next few games completely dominated 💪

  25. Brunobrunobrunobru

Just need bamba to be serviceable as well and we have our young guys to help AD for the future. Reaves, Vando, rui, and hopefully bamba and whoever we draft or trade for with this years pick
